Well 200 meters from the lake of Levico lays Hotel Ariston, a 3 stars hotel which is aging with grace. Probably 20 years old or more the hotel is well maintained and does not show its age, actually it makes it if anything more charming. There is a swimming pool clean and large enough for some swimming. Most of the rooms come with a very nice lake view, rooms are spacious and still modern with a decent bathroom. Both very clean. There is a safe for you convenient. The bed is comfortable and ensures a nice sleep. What makes this place special beyond the position close to the lake is the politeness of the staff. Top marks. Smiling and above all helpful. Thank you! They gave us alate check out to allow for a shower after a local running race at no extra charge. And with a smiling. Will come back.

What a wonderful 11 days we had staying in this excellent family run hotel. The lakeside position and the wonderful views makes it an excellent choice for walks around the lake. Very nice hotel with nice pool, close to the lake, were you can enjoy a capuccino from the kiosk, you can also walk around the lake from this hotel really easy. Very nice hotel with nice pool, close to the lake, were you can enjoy a capuccino from the kiosk, you can also walk around the lake from this hotel really easy. The rooms were nice but do not have A/C. We took the rooms towards the mountains with were very nice and cool, the sun does not hit them during the day or in the late afternoon, and they stay nice and cool. The wifi could be better, does not work very fast. The service was good and the staff was very helpful, lunch can be ordered with small sandwiches and drinks. overall a very nice stay will be considered the next time we are in the area

The Ariston is one of those mysterious hotels that should be nice but lacks a few things. Our room was fine, and the balcony overlooked the lake, but the walls are thin and you can hear toilet noise, talking and TV. The bathroom had a type of towel we've never encountered before, a kind of large tea-towel that we'd use in the kitchen to dry dishes - they just don't feel that nice. The pool is lovely, though they don't provide swimming towels which is a disadvantage to long-term travellers as you don't have room in your bag for a big towel. The location is good, right near the lake. You can walk right around the lake (about two hours, flat on the hotel side but quite a hike on the other). The lake is lovely for swimming and has a big grassy area just near the hotel. However, the worst thing was the wifi - we've been travelling for six months now and rely on it to keep in touch with home, hear news, download library books, and to plan the next step of our journey. We knew there was no wifi in the rooms from our booking, but expected that in the public areas there would be a reasonable connection. But the connection was the worst we've encountered on our trip so far. In Turkey, in little Greek villages, we've been able to stay connected. Here we mostly got disconnected after two or three minutes, sometimes you'd be lucky and get ten... I could never find the manager/owner to ask if it's always that bad - eventually another guest told me it's been worse than ever this week, the hotel is closing for the season on Sunday and over the winter they're going to re-wire and add wifi into the rooms, and you can go to their sister hotel up the road for connection. I did go up there a couple of times but wasn't really made to feel welcome. My question is - why on earth didn't the owner say something as we checked in, or when he saw us working on our computers and obviously getting very frustrated? Or offer us a drink once in a while..... He was a pleasant enough man, and suggested two good walks (up to Cima Venezza, an interesting drive to get there and a terrific walk with wonderful views at the top, and over to the Arte Sella exhibition which meant driving through the pretty Val di Sella), but I feel he could have done much better under the circumstances.
