Wonderful stay, exceptional on all aspects: warm yet discreet welcome, a family has been running this hotel since 3 generations, with their kind staff, in several languages, making sure all goes well, all the time. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a beautiful view (think of the best possible spot in Gargellen, that's just it), wonderful, tasty and creative food prepared with fresh local ingredients (think fresh eggs, from the owner's hens!), and cosy, charming facilities including a bar with a fireplace, great music and billiard, sauna, hammam, library, playroom... simply unforgettable!

Me and my husband decided to go to Austria and stay at the Alpenhotel Heimspize after reading a glowing review about the inn from a couple who had stayed at many European ski resorts. Well I’m here to say it exceeded our wildest dreams. From the moment we arrived we were not only taken by the beauty of the town but the elegance of the inn. Amelia , whose family has owned the inn for over 100 years has now taken the reins. We were so impressed by her. The inn itself was so enchanting, filled with items and furnishings from by gone days. We throughly enjoyed the adorable outside bar that served as a place for guest to gather after skiing or hiking. The rooms are spacious, well appointed, extremely clean and we also had a balcony! Every detail is attended to. No stone is left unturned. When we left in the morning and returned from dinner in the evening our beds were made or turned down. The fluffy robe was an added bonus as we used them for the sauna and steam room. The service staff were professional , knowledgeable, warm and welcoming. Now for the restaurant…. We were a little hesitant to take the half board option for the 6 nights we stayed but we couldn’t have been happier. Everything the chef prepared was exquisite! Many of the dishes were prepared using items from the garden that had been frozen or preserved. The breakfast was also wonderful. We give it 5 stars!! We hope to return soon !!! - [ ]

We are just back from our customary stay at the Heimspitze at this time of the year. As always, it has been a great experience. We are just back from our customary stay at the Heimspitze at this time of the year. As always, it has been a great experience. I don’t know if there is any other establishment in the Alps that reflects the beauty and charm of a mountain hotel as genuinely as Heimspitze. On top of that, the Chef’s Table that they offer at the restaurant is truly exquisite and second to none with the quality of the meals and service. Heimspitze is a precious gem to discover in beautiful Gargellen. Very higly recommended!

Last weekend two friends and i were hiking around the mountains of Gargellen. Early Sunday morning we went to the SPA to buy a huge breakfast ahead of another epic trail. Last weekend two friends and i were hiking around the mountains of Gargellen. Early Sunday morning we went to the SPA to buy a huge breakfast ahead of another epic trail. However, Gargellen is a sensible place where shops shut on Sunday - our typically urban-centric thought process hadn't conceived of this eventuality. We therefore tried our luck at the Heimspitze, a mountain we had scaled the day before, to see if we could nip in for breakfast. Amelie could not have been more generous - clearing a table and plonking down three hungry climbers amidst her regular guests. We were then offered various local specialities and a constant supply of coffee, fruit and eggs. Amelie gave us some advice for the day and then shipped us off to the mountains full of calories ready for the day. Next time I shall be staying at the Heimspitze.
