“Nice lake view from the room ”

The view from the room is great! Room feels dated but spacious. Private bathroom. The dinner and breakfast is acceptable. Onsen is good. The outdoor onsen will switch every day. Staff is friendly. Overall check in without any fuss. Free parking on site which is a plus point.

“They Have An Outstanding Staff in the Restaurant.”

Room and bathroom seriously need a makeover. Breakfast and dinner are so-so but in the restaurant there is an outstanding and remarkable staff (tall lady in beige uniform). It would be fantastic for the hotel to spread her 5 star hospitality to other areas.

Hotels in this area were pricey, but this particular hotel seemed to offer acceptable price considering its lakeside location, room type (capacity and lake view). No wonder… This hotel was quite old; and probably needed renovation soon. Room door was still manual button lock without any other devices (deadbolt, latch, chain), so don’t forget to lock the door when you leave and ensure to have room key with you. Also, parking area was quite limited with small entrance and dark at night. All that said, view from my room was peaceful and beautiful. There were fireworks at night during my stay, so my kids were excited to see all 3 sets, one of which was directly from this hotel. My room was spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 kids with a small table and 4 chairs looking over the lake. With lakeside location, it was lovely to just come down from a room and have a walk along the lake for fresh air and peaceful atmosphere. Onsen was good and bigger than most I had ever visited. Second floor offered indoor and outdoor areas. Breakfast and dinner were organized in time-slot arrangement, so crowd control was quite well managed. A selection was ok, but seemed to be exactly the same every day. If you chose half board or full board over your 2-3 days stay, prepared to deal with the same set of selection each day.

The view from the hotel is pretty good and the price is much better compared to the other more famous hotel next to it. Food and service is ok but don’t expect to be served as if you are eating at Nijo market. One plus point is that the hotel was not crowded and the onsen was pretty much a privat… lisää

“Old lakeside hotel with slow service and average food”

Toya Lake is a GEM, and it is really worth to spent a bit more for the experience. This hotel is on the edge of Toyo Lake, most rooms have beautiful view of the lake , and you can see the firework display clearly in the balcony. Toya Lake is a GEM, and it is really worth to spent a bit more for the experience. This hotel is on the edge of Toyo Lake, most rooms have beautiful view of the lake , and you can see the firework display clearly in the balcony. The room is spacious but the decor is dated and old fashioned. The dining room, the On-sen are dated and not really in the luxury class. The outdoor on-sen is used alternatively by men and ladies, so we can only use it on the day of arrival. We have half board which include breakfasts and dinners for two, so for US$ 200 it is not too bad, but the food is buffet style which is a disappointment, we expected for traditional inn like this they should serve Japanese set-meals The food is oK , snowy crabs are served, so as beef steaks and sukiyaki . I am not unhappy as I got what I paid for.But I wish I spent a bit more on a higher class hotel, so my trip to Lake Toyo could be more memorable. But there is always A NEXT TIME.
