“Nice ryokan”

The hotel is located on the mountain suit for traveller who drive. Resonable price, good service, amazing view from room and hot spring is great!! Quiet and private. The food is good both dinner and breakfast.recommended!!

Stayed at this quiet ryokan for 2 nights from 10 to 12 July 2018. The room was very clean. Although there wasn't any Aircon but it was cool in the night when the windows were opened. Stayed at this quiet ryokan for 2 nights from 10 to 12 July 2018. The room was very clean. Although there wasn't any Aircon but it was cool in the night when the windows were opened. The temperature was cooler in higher altitude. We had Teppanyaki for dinner on our first night & shabu shabu the next night. We enjoyed the dinner very much. There wasn't a very wide range for breakfast but good enough to get you started for the day. The resort has an onsen that has a stunning view especially during sunset. The onsen is segregated by gender. The drive up to the resort was relatively easy as there weren't many cars. During the drive up to the resort we saw a fox along the way. We will stay at this resort again if we visit Kamifurano.

“A comfortable stay with amazing views”

Stayed here for one night. The location is excellent. It's located near the woods and set high up in the mountains, but still easily accessible by car, just off the main road that passes through Mt. Stayed here for one night. The location is excellent. It's located near the woods and set high up in the mountains, but still easily accessible by car, just off the main road that passes through Mt. Tokachidake. It seems like they offer a shuttle bus service to/from the nearest train station as well. The woods are beautiful. The views from the onsen is just gorgeous. It's positioned overlooking views of the surrounding area. Since the outdoor onsen is right by the woods, there will be quite a bit of flying bugs. We saw a deer meander through some bushes behind the parking lot. According to some posters in the hotel, you can see hawks and foxes too. The hotel itself is certainly not a luxury ryokan. It's more like a mid-tier establishment. The rooms and facilities are worn, but clean and comfortable nonetheless. There's no air conditioning, but there's a fan in the room. The service is very attentive, but since this is not a luxury ryokan, most things are self-service. However, if you needed help, for example - we needed very large yukatas, the staff is more than happy to help. The guests take their meals in the dining hall. The dinner, which was included in our room rate, was not luxurious, but filling, hearty, and delicious. It was a set meal that included appetizers and a small hot pot, combined with a self-service buffet of pickled vegetables, different types of rice, and soups. Breakfast, which was also included in our room rate, was a a mix of Japanese and Western style buffet. The views are really why most guests come. However, the hotel itself is very comfortable and the food, while not fancy, still very enjoyable. We were there with a big group of elderly travelers, but still found the place to be quite tranquil.

After reading the good reviews I decided to stay there. The remote location deep in the mountain was beautiful. So was the hot spring. However every thing else was average at best. After reading the good reviews I decided to stay there. The remote location deep in the mountain was beautiful. So was the hot spring. However every thing else was average at best. Food was uninspiringly boring, the facility old and depressing like an institution, service was business-like, the big septic tank in the middle of the back yard outside of window that offered a beautiful view of mountains and valleys. With the price I paid, almost 19000 yen for a person, I expected a better facility. And, I don't trust any hotel with the toilet paper holder covered with a gramma's lacy needlework and the hallway with icy white fluorescent lights.
