“Excellent value for price paid”
A night in Mito was chosen for a pit stop between Tokyo and Motegi. Incredibly cheap (SGD22 per night for two pax) for Japan. No gripes, very clean. Small place yes, but has everything you’d need including kettle, hair dryer and toiletries. I’d be sure to check out other Court Hotels should there … lisää

“Tired public spaces but comfortable room”
About 10 minutes walk from the railway station, in Mito's drab city centre, the Court Hotel has seen better days. Its restaurant is shut and public spaces scruffy. “Stinky, dated and very small”
You can get used to small Japanese hotel rooms but not the stink of cigarette smoke in the room which made it very unpleasant. Bathroom was one of those cruise ship units with some ingenious plumbing for the shower. Best part of the hotel was, unfortunately, the connected Denny's restaurant!

“Clean and Tidy”
We stayed here for 2 nights during the MotoGP. Value for money isn’t there at all during this time period but to be expected at $280 au + per night. “Ok”
The rooms were compact but enough for a single person or business traveller. There's a Denny's on the ground floor which is convenient. It's also a short walk to the station. My main criticism would be the Saturday room rate is quite excessive for what it is but the mid week rates were reasonable
