“Beautiful hotel with charm and character”
I stayed at this hotel with my wife and two children during a two-night trip to Karuizawa in early February. “Lovely afternoon tea ”
We went to this hotel for afternoon, and it was wonderful. Biking around the hotel was very relaxing and picturesque. The hotel has a lot of history, and John Lennon used to stay here. We ordered a green tea cake roll and a cup of royal milk tea, and the cake was amazing.

If you are visiting Karuizawa, you must go to see Mampei Hotel. There are reasons. “Lunch”
Lovely place for lunch - have the Japanese curry. It’s rather pricey, but all done with very old school style. Didn’t stay in the hotel, but it looked like a classic traditional Japanese version of a western style grand hotel, though perhaps a little in need of a refresh.
