“the perfect ryokan experience”
Perfectly located this ryokan is the right balance of tradition and confort. The staff is extremely nice, the room very confortable, the Onsen spacious, the kaiseiki diner excellent. We highly recommend.

“Beautiful facility Excellent Service”
It's our first time in Kyoto and we were lucky to pick Gion Hatanaka for our stay. The ryokan was clean, well maintained and had a really nice public bath. “Great ryokan experience”
It’s a very nice place if you don’t mind spending a bit. Service is excellent and the Kaiseki meals are works of art, although such traditional Japanese cuisine can be an acquired taste for the western palate (e.g. it’s very different to Japanese food we eat back home in Australia). “Relax and enjoy the scenery”
We stayed for a night and also had the kaiseki dinner and breakfast option, the meals where generous and delicious.
