An wonderful stay again! We came here 2 years ago and loved the hotel so much, we decided we had to stay again this time as part of our Honeymoon. The hotel itself is beautiful. They really put a lot of time and effort into designing the hotel while keeping as many original features as possible. It gives the hotel a unique look and charm. As adults who grew up playing (and still play) Nintendo games, we loved all of the Nintendo memorabilia and the nods to the former Nintendo offices and home throughout the hotel. The staff members were always polite and would go out of their way to help. We were really surprised and grateful that they sent some Christmas cards to family for us, rather then have us go to the main post office in Kyoto. We stayed in the balcony room which was clean and spacious. We really liked that there was a sofa and armchair or the chairs on the balcony that we could sit on when we wanted to relax after a busy day. It is nice to sit somewhere that isn’t the bed. The shower pressure was excellent, very powerful. The bed was super comfy and the pillows super soft. We really liked the library lounge, which is self service. A nice, quiet place to relax before heading to your room in the evening. The lounge area downstairs is also very nice, we really enjoyed the snacks and drinks provided in there. We would recommend Marufukuro to anyone and we would love to stay here a third time!

The hotel is 10 mins walk from everything you need and if you need to travel a little further the staff were always helpful with arranging transportation. Thank you for making our stay in Kyoto so memorable.

“Excellent 5* Hotel in the old headquarters of Nintendo!”

Marufukoro is the 5* hotel.located in the old headquarters of Nintendo company. Nowadays it is reconverted in a Hotel. The accomodation is excellent and the staff is very friendly. Marufukoro is the 5* hotel.located in the old headquarters of Nintendo company. Nowadays it is reconverted in a Hotel. The accomodation is excellent and the staff is very friendly. They helped us always. The room and bathroom were big and very comfortable. A place to relax and stay all day. Really, in the room there was all we needed. The private hall is excellent, you can see a lot of things related with Nintendo and you can drink all you want. Wonderful place. Also you can drink free some wine glasses and eat free some pastries. Awesome for Nintendo-lovers. On the other hand, the breakfast was not included in the price. It was a bit difficult to arrive and park with a car due to narrow streets. We loved our stay at this hotel. The hotel is very special and has a wonderful feel to it. The craftsmanship is beautiful. We stayed in the 3rd floor balcony room and it was spacious and comfortable. The staff could not have been more professional, helpful, and accommodating. Many spoke excellent English. We had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant one night, and enjoyed the morning breakfast. We liked the location of the hotel, on a quiet alley near the river. It was not far from Gion and the Kawaramachi area, but far enough to be away from the hustle and bustle. We would highly recommend this hotel.
