“Comfortable, clean and perfect homemade”

Mimaru Kyoto Shoji was a perfect home base for our Kyoto/Osaka part of our Japan trip. Mimaru Kyoto Shoji was a perfect home base for our Kyoto/Osaka part of our Japan trip. It was centrally located and easy to walk to several places like the karasuma station, Nishiki market and lots of great restaurants and shops. The suite was spacious and fit our family of five perfectly. The in room washer and dryer were very convenient even though it was a lot smaller than what we're used to. Coffee/tea all day in the lobby along with the nightly sake/beer happy hour were added bonuses.

“Immaculate Hotel in a great location”

This hotel was an outstanding introduction to Japan - absolutely immaculate. We stayed in the three bedroom / 2 bathroom (one was an ensuite) apartment as there were five of us. This hotel was an outstanding introduction to Japan - absolutely immaculate. We stayed in the three bedroom / 2 bathroom (one was an ensuite) apartment as there were five of us. It was very spacious by Japanese standards - there was a small kitchenette (fairly large fridge), separate lounge area and dining area. The space was much appreciated as was the ability to prepare small meals and snacks.The apartment was on the seventh floor, overlooking the back of the building - there was a view to the foothills and we could see a temple in the distance. The location was good. It was a five minute walk to the station and around 20mins to the main shopping area. We found a 'Life' supermarket nearby which was well worth the visit...around 10min walk. There were plenty of small cafes and restaurants nearby as well as convenience stores for snacks. The hotel actually provides small packaged amenities (cleanser, moisturiser as well as pyjamas in the lobby). They also have a coffee/hot chocolate machine available all day. There is a Sake and Beer evening offering as well - free of charge. The beds were very comfortable and all rooms had aircon and heating. We have not stayed in a hotel with this level of cleanliness in quite some time! All the staff spoke English and were very helpful. We can not recommend this hotel enough - especially if you have a large group/family travelling

“Loved It!”

Absolutely loved the Mimaru Suites Kyoto Shijo. Stayed with my family of four and the 2 bedroom apartment was the perfect size for us. The kitchen, lounge and dining was a welcome addition. Highly recommend.
