We visited this hotel as a family of 7 with a 2 year old and delighted to find they are very child friendly. A great hotel with great staff especially "Mac" who was extremely helpful and friendly. We visited this hotel as a family of 7 with a 2 year old and delighted to find they are very child friendly. A great hotel with great staff especially "Mac" who was extremely helpful and friendly. Location is good and happy hour free coffee, tea, beer and saki was a game changer. Whoever thought of that is a genius. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Next time I'm in Tokyo this is where I'm staying. Very happy that we stayed here.

“Understated, convenient and quiet.”

Excellent location. Quiet and convenient. We booked a suite with a kitchen ( due to some diet restrictions) for we stayed close to a month. The only two complaints, one from the husband and the other from the wife are: the insufficient lighting in the bathroom made daily shaving difficult, the kit… lisää

Excellent location. Quiet and convenient. We booked a suite with a kitchen ( due to some diet restrictions) for we stayed close to a month. The only two complaints, one from the husband and the other from the wife are: the insufficient lighting in the bathroom made daily shaving difficult, the kitchen needs a bit more utensils for cooking. So hubby skipped the shaving to every few days while wife found at Daiso heaven a veggie peeler and a sharp knife that truly cuts and acrice cooker was provided on demand by hotel desk. Otherwise, we had a great great time. The cleaning staff was very efficient and respectful of one's privacy as there were no daily knocking on the door, contrary to many US hotels where the posted signs outside the door weren't explicit enough. We were long term residents of Kansai and Kanto area years ago. The Mimaru suite worked out well, we felt de novo at home. We still go to Japan regularly to visit friends. The Mimaru chain remains a great find for us.

We are World of Hyatt members, but we recognize that for our first experience in Japan, it would help us to better understand the new cultural environment if we stayed at a Japanese hotel. And we loved it! The facilities are lovely, simple, COMPLETELY adequate, and the location of the Shijo building was beneficial for us getting around using transit to all areas of Kyoto, and Osaka. The laundry facilities were a huge draw for us, a family staying over 2 weeks abroad. We highly recommend this hotel!

“Fantastic location and amenities”

I stayed in a 2 bed apartment with a friend for 5 nights. It was a great size, very clean and modern. We both had our own bedroom and bathroom. The staff were really friendly and the hotel was in a great location, easy to walk to most attractions, shops and markets and the subway was close too.
