We stayed here prior to an Alpine Route trip. We took the JR line to Omachi station then took a bus to Omachi Onsen. We were picked up by a hotel shuttle which brought us to the hotel. (Shuttel was there meeting the bus - I think it does so in the afternoons). Mr Ota was very helpful - he filled out the baggage transfer from for me so we could ship our luggage to Toyama. He also gave us good recommendations on where to go in the town for dinner. Be aware there are not a lot of options, they tend to fill up and are hard to get into for larger parties, and they close early. The place we went to had sensational food, great service (albeit no English and we don't speak Japanese, but very friendly anyway, and with Google translate we figured out what to order :). The breakfast at the hotel was amazing, with tons of western and Japanese options. The hotel is very well situated for the Alpine Route. We loved walking around the town at night - you can go out in your yukata with the over robe and it is comfortable, also there are lanterns you can bring for an atmospheric experience. we loved the fact that there are not very many non-Japanese on the Alpine Route and at this hotel, as it made for a more authentic Japanese experience - and Mr Ota was there to help if we had questions. The onsen was also a hit, as was the footbath. We got a room with private open air bath, which was nice as well. very comfortable. the whole area is pricey to find a hotel room at, as it is an onsen resort, FYI.

“Sensational in every respect”

Stayed three nights at Keisui in January 2017. Everything about my time there was fantastic. Stayed three nights at Keisui in January 2017. Everything about my time there was fantastic. The Japanese-style washitsu room was so well appointed and so relaxing and even though it has its own bathroom I didn't use it, instead visiting the fantastic hotel onsen/rotenburo. Sitting in the beautiful outdoor hot spring with the snow falling lightly on my head was one of those memories that will last a lifetime. My visit was so peaceful and relaxing. Assistant Manager Mr Ota is US educated and speaks perfect English. On check-in he gave us a guided tour of the hotel so there was never any sense of uncertainty at all. There is a lovely, relaxing sitting room overlooking the hotel's beautiful garden. There is no room wifi (the only downer) but there is free wifi here in the sitting room. I sat and enjoyed watching the snowfall, chatting with old friends. We also had a beautiful dinner and the breakfast each morning was lovely. I can't say enough about how lovely and relaxing my stay was and if you would like to experience real Japanese hospitality in a hot spring hotel that has the right balance of modern and traditional you'd have trouble doing better than Keisui.

Hotel was nice. A good stop if you want to relax after the Kurobe Alpine trip. We visited towards end May and we got the impression that this was a low season for the area since some of the hotels and shops are closed. Quite secluded town. Since nothing much to do in the area, most of the guests will use the public bath / spa. It is uncommon for us to use a Japanese public bath, so it was a good choice for us to have booked a Japanese room with own outdoor bath. It was really a good experience to take a bath with nature. Please also note hotel did not operate their air conditioners during this season. It was a little uncomfortable to stay in the room during the afternoon but temp went down and was good after sundown.

“Nice & clean ”

We stayed 1 night at this Ryokan before we travelled to the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine route. Very nice room, comfy tatami, very friendly staff. There was 1 indoor & 1 outdoor onsen, not very big though. Average dinner & breakfast. Check out the souvenir shop, u may find something unique there.
