I booked with Hotel Los Inn based on the price, location, and parking. Parking was simple, you park under the hotel and walk the stairs or take the elevator to the lobby. The lobby area was cool and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We booked a non smoking room. The rooms were spacious, a bit old fashion and smelt funny, but hey, they had everything I needed. The hotel was within walking distance to the arcade street where all the shops and restaurants are. The castle was no far away, and if you are here on Sunday, go to the Market.

I was initially very nervous about driving in Japan, especially cities where I might have to negotiate the confusing system of parking. I was initially very nervous about driving in Japan, especially cities where I might have to negotiate the confusing system of parking. I changed hotels at the last minute from one with a better rating and reputation than Los Inn because of the lack of info about parking and clear directions about arrangements. Glad I did as the staff here were great providing clear instructions. I could park right on the property without any issues for a very small daily fee. There were no issues taking the car out for a day trip down the peninsula and back. Los Inn is also really well located. It is close to JR Station and very easy to find. This is a very Japanese Hotel - funky with a good value breakfast ...and a twist : the managers are pretty well fluent in Spanish having spent many years in Paraguay. This was great for me or any other Westerner whose Japanese is basic but Spanish is good. The rooms are fine. Small but clean and the breakfast is good - Western or Japanese - and good value. Don't miss a visit to Kochi Castle : the best I have seen on Shikoku. Un hotel excelente, conveniente y de buen precio.

“Standard Business Hotel”

Fairly standard business hotel close to the station, but a short walk from the main attractions of Kochi. Room rates are reasonable and the Japanese-style room I had was basic but a good size and clean. Slightly eccentric decor throughout the hotel which is worth seeing, but there is no hot water… lisää

Fairly standard business hotel close to the station, but a short walk from the main attractions of Kochi. Room rates are reasonable and the Japanese-style room I had was basic but a good size and clean. Slightly eccentric decor throughout the hotel which is worth seeing, but there is no hot water in your room before 4pm - I think they assume that everyone is out during the day. Can't recall how much English the staff spoke, but I had no problems with my fairly basic Japanese.
