Spent a night here with our friends and their baby during our road trip in Kyushu. It is not a big onsen hotel but this is exactly why we like it here. The room we booked are traditional Japanese style room with outdoor onsen at the backyard by the river. Amazing view and you’d be able to see some ducky on the river from time to time. Very relaxing and it really can enhance your holiday mood that you can fully enjoy yourself. They have a beautiful Japanese garden with a pond in the middle of the hotel, a good spot for photo and a slow walk around lol~ We had both our dinner and breakfast at their only restaurant by the garden; and the food there are so fresh so yummy and organic. The staffs there are very kind that we are well taken care of; and they love baby as I can tell! A baby-friendly hotel I would say. Staffs are very patient with baby and they even are playing with our friend’s baby from time to time. What impressed us the most is that at check out, they have prepared some local souvenirs for both of us; and the owner (I suppose) has walked us out to the parking area while the staff have delivered all our luggages from room to car (same for check in). We feel so warm about it. Well...usually it is the staff who would walk us out and say goodbye in some other Japanese onsen hotels but this one, it is the owner herself!!! Thanks for doing it!! We definitely would make a second visit shall we come back to the region for the third time (yes we stayed at a different hotel during our first visit. That one we stayed are very nice but we definitely love this one more! It feels more like home). And only one point to add, if your afraid of cold, don’t come in winter as it is still very cold at night in May when we were there. Our room has no indoor shower; and the shower place is basically outdoor by the onsen. It’s very raw and wind comes in the shower shelter from everywhere lol~ So, you’d imagine how cold it’d be when you need to take a shower in the winter time. But yeah...still a very good unique experience I’d say. Hope you guys would enjoy the hotel as much as we do.

“Superb hotel with the best Onsen”

This hotel is very private. Check in feels very welcome but it quite hard to communicate in English. Room was spacious and clean. Inroom onsen was superb. There are indoor and out door Onsen which has the best view we ever stayed (waterfall view). The hotel also has public onsen (7.00-21.00). Kaise… lisää

This hotel is very private. Check in feels very welcome but it quite hard to communicate in English. Room was spacious and clean. Inroom onsen was superb. There are indoor and out door Onsen which has the best view we ever stayed (waterfall view). The hotel also has public onsen (7.00-21.00). Kaiseki set for dinner was amazing and delicious. Alll staffs were very attentive and helpful although some of them cannot understand English but we feel very welcome here. Breakfast set was nice. If u need to stay in a ryokan with inroom-onsen, Hozantai is one of the best place to stay. Please note: This hotel required CASH only.

The Hozantei ryokan is a collection of traditional Japanese rooms, situated around a small koi carp pond and garden area. Rooms are Japanese style, some having their own outdoor hot spring bath overlooking the nearby river. The location is lovely, the rooms are perhaps a little dated but the service from all staff was excellent throughout our stay. Food in the restaurant, both for breakfast and dinner was plentiful and excellent.

“Relaxation hotel”

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night. Excellent view of the private open bath which facing a river. Very good outdoor environment. However, the water is not hot enough at the hot spring and cannot adjust. The dinner and breakfast are excellent. It is a very relaxing hotel and very good for a couple.… lisää

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night. Excellent view of the private open bath which facing a river. Very good outdoor environment. However, the water is not hot enough at the hot spring and cannot adjust. The dinner and breakfast are excellent. It is a very relaxing hotel and very good for a couple. One more thing, the public bath is not good enough compare with the private bath.
