We drove 2.5hrs from Osaka airport and on arrival, there is an immediate sense that this is what we want - get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Typically Japanese in style and practice but has all the conveniences of a western hotel. Very quiet and lovely views - from our room we had the the canal/river views with the bay views/Asoumi sea in the horizon (if u on the higher floor u can see it). Short walk to the sand bar which u can then walk or cycle across to the opposite side. Walking will probably take you 20 - 30 mins whilst cycling is 10mins. You can borrow a bike from the hotel. We cycled and it was really pleasant and convenient to venture off in a bike! Food is good - we had our breakfasts and kaiseki dinner in hotel which we recommend. There are few restaurant options short walk from hotel. The onsen is lovely with sauna and cold plunge pool!

I wanted to visit Amanohashidate for the exceptional view and to visit the cultural sites like Motoise Kono shrine and other local attractions. I was looking for a central hotel with good service. Monjuso exceeded my expectations, the place is beautiful, the service was top notch from the moment I checked in to my departure. The onsen was so relaxing and the food options were so delicious. The quality of the accommodations surpassed the price of my stay. My only regret is that I did not stay there more days, I look forward to another visit to the area so I can experience this fantastic place once again.
