Newer hotel at the time of our 8-day stay in April 2025. We stayed in the Leben twin category which gave us two queen beds and a nice living room area. it could’ve been bigger, but they have a central location in Osaka. Decor was minimalist, but it was comfortable for us with two kids under 9. Sadly, the room had no view and looked out directly into the other building. It’s not a big deal because we were out and about, but we had just transferred from a fantastic suite with a view at the Universal Port Vita. Loved the high-quality Bamford amenities at this hotel. I would genuinely rebook there if only for the amenities. I believe it’s a British brand and I’m head over heels for the body wash. It’s pricey if you’re buying it retail. We didn’t take advantage of the in room breakfast. The hotel did not have a restaurant, but it was surrounded by restaurants within walking distance and Japan’s famous convenience stores (7/11, FamilyMart). If you are into DIY travel, this hotel makes a really good homebase. And you can save a lot by just getting breakfast from outside the hotel. They provided pyjamas for the whole family. Note that the biggest grown-up size they have will not work for a full grown Caucasian man lol. We did eventually get sick of convenience store foods. So we had a couple of brunches at a restaurant called Maze, which again was within walking distance. More of a western/Japanese fusion brunch food and it was quite good. We did prefer the space and amenities at the universal studios hotel but this one is a solid choice if you wanna be in a more central location.

We had a good experience at Hotel The Leben for our 3 night stay in Osaka. The facilities are fairly new and spacious for Osaka standards, with laundry machines and microwaves throughout the building. We had a good experience at Hotel The Leben for our 3 night stay in Osaka. The facilities are fairly new and spacious for Osaka standards, with laundry machines and microwaves throughout the building. The location is good if you want to visit the shinsaibashi area and it's relatively close to dotonbori. There are lots of good food options around, 7-11 convenience store right around the corner. Though we did have some minor hiccups, they were all handled gracefully by Kim from the front desk, she was a pleasure to work with!

I found this hotel through Instagram! I really loved the location of the hotel and its proximity to delicious restaurants and the local train station and underground shopping mall (Parco). The room itself was very nice and amenities were great. The staff were very helpful (we booked several taxis through them). The neighborhood was safe and felt like you were living amongst the locals and didn't feel so touristy. They had a wonderful self-serve refreshments bar and Jura coffee machine in the lobby available throughout the day which was very welcome after a long day of walking and sightseeing. The toiletries were also great! Loved their hand soap which was not drying to the skin. The rooms were spacious for Japan standards and beds were comfortable and a good size. Needs improvement: 1. For the room we stayed in, you could not open the window and it got pretty stuffy even with the AC on full blast. 2. The washer and dryer is a combo unit, and the dryer just doesn't dry! We did 2 loads of laundry and ran the dryer cycle for 1 hour and our clothes were still very damp. We had to hang our clothes all over the place in the room which was tricky with so many clothes for a family of 3. Would not recommend using the washer/dryer. 3. It's also a little far from Shin-Osaka station. I thought it was closer when I booked it and because we took several day trips to Kyoto, we needed to go to Shin-Osaka a lot to ride the Shinkansen. We ended up taking a taxi several times to Shin-Osaka station to/fr the hotel instead of riding the subway cuz it was just faster and less tiring with all the walking and luggage. So I would just be aware that it's at least a 10-15 min ride from the nearest local station to Shin-Osaka if you're planning on using the Shinkansen. Other than that, it was a great stay. Clean, modern and upscale for a reasonable price in Osaka!

“Great location and restful rooms”

Great location with helpful staff. Amenities counter was convenient to take what was needed rather than having things go to waste in the room. Rooms were clean, bright and roomy. Go to 7/11 across the neighbourhood street for breakfast as the breakfast option was lacking. Would stay again.
