“Lesser known budget hotel in a great location”

Our room was quite spacious (had a Japanese style tatami room in addition to bedroom which we used to keep our luggage). Bathroom was tiny and the access to the bath tub was not very convenient. Daily breakfast was decent for the price. We chose this hotel because we wanted to stay in a convenient location and it was the only budget hotel in Shinsekai. This was close to multiple railway lines, steps away from the vibrant Shinsekai neighourhood as well as other attractions like shoppping mall, zoo etc. It was just 2 stops away from Namba and connected through JR with all major attractions around. Honestly, with the location, it is hard not to rate it a 4 out of 5, despite its flaws.

We chose this hotel because of its good location. The room was clean, quiet, a nice size and the beds were comfortable. What we didn't like was the breakfast (we're OK with simple but this was beyond basic - just a couple of hot items and dry bread). We also didn't like how hectic the lobby was. Wh… lisää

When we arrived around 2pm, there was luggage everywhere -- we could barely squeeze our way to the front desk. They told us we could leave our bags there in the pileup while we waited an hour for check-in... no thank you! The same issue repeated upon check-out... There should be a storage room where only staff has access, or a room full of self-service lockers. It's like the hotel designer wasn't expecting guests to arrive with luggage!

“Worth a Visit”

We stayed two wonderful nights at the Osaka-Shinsekai on the 13th floor in a King Room. The room itself was very basic & small, but we knew that when booking. They provide slippers, pajamas, and a hot water kettle in the room. However, they provide additional amenities such as lotion, razors, and other various beauty amenities downstairs - everything you need in a pinch. The view of the Tsutenkaku Tower from our room is what made this experience all worth it. I highly recommend booking a room on a higher floor. We went into this thinking the hotel would be noisy, and it would be hard to sleep due to noise in the Shinsekai area. We were wrong and slept easily. Just a tip for future travelers, the windows do not open, and when the heat is turned on, the room can get a bit stuffy. The hotel is in the heart of Shinsekai - it is easy to navigate the nearby Shin-Imamiya-Ekimae station. Restaurants, entertainment, and Don Quijote are close by. Bonus points for being directly across the street from Chao Chao Gyoza! This restaurant was one of our favorites in Japan, and we wish we had discovered it sooner. The staff was friendly, checked us in easily, and answered any questions we had throughout our stay. Overall, the hotel was wonderful, clean, & worked out for a couple of nights. I am only giving it three stars because it is very basic compared to all of the amazing hotels in Japan - it feels more like a business hotel, and not one for tourists.
