Stayed in Route Inn’s many times in Japan and this is the first time I have had to remove my shoes at the entrance of any hotel. Good standard room with free and good Wi-fi. Restaurant very good with excellent sashimi. Breakfast also good but mainly Japanese. Rooms are small but have everything you need including a good size bed. Average price. Spa facilities available.

“Great first Japanese experience”

My spouse & I stayed here on the advice of his coworkers in that it was the closet hotel to where he was going to be working. This was not the case, but I loved it here. Hanyu is a small town, but this is great Japanese spa hotel. Most of the guests appeared to be there for the spa, which is an experience in and of itself. From the shoe lockers in the lobby, the typically small rooms and bathrooms, the loungewear that everyone wore, to the very traditional Japanese breakfasts I thought it made a great immersion into Japanese life. Our room was on the 8th floor facing the grocery store across the street, but it's high enough to have a panoramic view. To this day, every time I get in an elevator I think to myself 'Hachi-ka des'. Eighth floor it is! The grocery store, a department store and the train station are all within shouting distance. The downside is that there is one restaurant outside the hotel.

First when you come in the first strange thing for Europeans, you have to take off your shoes in the whole hotel. the rooms are relative small compared to European standards. the matresses are very hard (almost like you are living directly on the floor) The rooms are clean and equipped with an air condition, the breakfast was ok. A super market and several restraints close by. By train you need approx. 1,5 to Tokio center.
