“A great stay in Matsue”

We stayed in a modern style Japanese room with a lovely outdoor bath on the balcony. The view of the lake was great, but there is a busy road between the hotel and lake. We stayed in a modern style Japanese room with a lovely outdoor bath on the balcony. The view of the lake was great, but there is a busy road between the hotel and lake. The kaiseki dinners and breakfasts were all excellent. We stayed in winter - there was light snow and strong winds causing waves on the lake, so we were a little surprised to find the shower was also on the exposed balcony (not inside the room). It was extremely cold in sub-zero temperatures and not very well screened from the road. But we managed to enjoy the bath and overall it was a great stay.

Stayed in the Cloud room with a private onsen in the balcony facing an awesome view of the lake. Room was clean and spacious with a generous supply of amenities. Visited the public bath as well but was nothing impressive. Beer and yakult was provided free of charge in the hotel lobby. Note that if … lisää

Stayed in the Cloud room with a private onsen in the balcony facing an awesome view of the lake. Room was clean and spacious with a generous supply of amenities. Visited the public bath as well but was nothing impressive. Beer and yakult was provided free of charge in the hotel lobby. Note that if you are traveling with young children, they change an extra ¥2500 per child just for them to be in the room, no extra beds provided and breakfast is a separate charge. Breakfast served was exquisite and in a private dining room which we appreciate. Overall nice experience but just one night is enough as the town is very quiet and the room price is very steep.

“Very fine japanese hotel with Western beds as a choice”

We stayed for 2 nights in this Japanese hotel, the room was large and with westers bed as our choice.Japanese dinner was excellent and we choke for a western breakfast because we dont like fish in the morning. Free wi fi in the room and excellent service makes this hotel a real treat!

While it was very nice restaurant in a different location. There is a lot of competition in this area for Onsen. This is a smaller property with a nice lake view but not being able to where are yukata to dinner was a little strange. The meals here were great. Breakfast was served in the same location. Even with a Japanese speaker in our group communication was a little confused. Facility was clean. Having stayed in other onsen with a very natural setting and beautiful gardens this felt more like a hot tub. Awesome popsicles offered in the onsen might have been the highlight

We stayed at Naniwa Issui for one night during our recent visit in Shimane. We had a Japanese-style room with a balcony facing the lake. The room size was small and the decor was a bit dated. The lake view was great but, on the other hand, the busy road running in-between could be quite noisy when the windows were open. We had Kaiseki dinner and breakfast in private dining room. The food was great. The Wagyu steak was tender and flavorful. The public onsens, 1 indoor and 1 outdoor, were not so impressive. Should we stay here again, we would try the "Cloud" room with private onsen as recommended by some reviewers.
