1. Service - very good! The staff were friendly and helpful. They can understand and speak limited English. At times, they would use a digital translator to help communicate their explanation. 2. Food - good. They served sausages, salad, scrambled eggs, mini croissants, chocolate croissants, ham, salami, juice, miso soup. 3. Room - good. This is a business hotel, so I didn't expect much. My room was small, clean and safe. I was placed on the side of the train station so I could hear the trains. I used my noise reduction ear plugs to help eliminate the noise. There is a camper style bathroom in the room in which you have to step up and into the bathroom. The hotel provided clean towels in a bag and left it on my door handle every day. In exchange, I would place my used towels in the bag. The only issue I had was understanding how to turn on the AC with the small remote control. The remote isn't labeled in English. After a couple of tries, I finally figured out how to turn on the AC. 4. Activities - very good. There are restaurants and a nice grocery store at Shinagawa station. There is a grocery store next door to the hotel. 5. Overall - I chose this hotel due to its location to Shinagawa Station. Great connection to and from Haneda Airport, the Yamanote Line, and the Shinkansen. I would definitely stay again at this hotel. It served my needs very well.

“Fine, nothing really to report”

We grabbed a hotel next to the major station in Tokyo where we could also get a metro to the airport the following day. We grabbed a hotel next to the major station in Tokyo where we could also get a metro to the airport the following day. The Room Similar to the other Toyoko Inn we stayed at towards the beginning of our trip, this room had some small comforts in that set it apart from other Tokyo hotels. The painting was quite nice, and even had a QR code on to find out more info on your phone about the artwork in the Toyoko Tokyo Hotels. The room was an alright size, and the bathroom wasn’t the pokiest. The Breakfast The dining room was on the ground floor, to the left. The hotel being a stone’s throw from the Shinagawa Station, there wasn’t too much around abouts. The dining room was quite cramped and you seemed to be sitting on top of each other, and on top of the waste disposal areas, which wasn’t very pleasant. The food was alright, but I can’t recall anything really positive or negative, I’m afraid. I didn’t make any notes as I was absolutely exhausted. The hotel did the job and was in a very useful location.

“Good value for money and perfect for one night.”

The room is small but functional. We were there just for one night after flying from London to Haneda. Yes the bed is hard and so are the pillows but we were so tired that we slept anyway. Hotel provides everything you could need (razors, toothbrush, toothpaste, face cleaner, face cream, body wash, shampoo, conditioner...) and what I could only describe as "one size fits all" gender neutral night gowns, which looked and felt a bit like a hospital gown. The breakfast is served in the lobby so it is a bit cramped. Fruit drink, tea and coffee, napolitan pasta, eggs and sausages.... Only one lift so you have to queue at busy times. Several vending machines, complimentary 24/7 tea and coffee in the lobby. Supermarket next door. 4 minutes walk from Shinagawa Station for the shinkansen. Can't complain.

I chose this hotel for its location, with direct train access to Haneda airport and close to Tokyo centre. It took me slightly more than 5 mins walk from Shinagawa station, and it's extremely popular for that reason. However, what I did not expect was that the hotel is really tiny, not so much in terms of room space, but the public area. Frequent Toyoko-Inn patrons will understand, the hotel chain usually provide free breakfast, but due to its space constraints, this hotel can only allocate a tiny area for breakfast, I can understand the seats are a bit more congested, but so are the breakfast variety?? Though it's still tasty nonetheless. In addition, there's only 1 lift, which can be a nightmare during peak hours, especially if you are rushing for train or flights. Next, Toyoko-Inn also provides washing machine and dryer, pity that there's also only 1 set available here. By the way, it's really so near to the station, that noises from the tracks are clearly audible from my room facing the tracks, definitely not for the light sleepers. These are of course, the constraints that the hotel group can do nothing much more to help, but I have to say, the staffs are truly marvellous and helpful despite speaking little English.
