Loved the food and the quaint setting. Women guests are given a choice of beautifully patterned and colourful yukata to choose from. One is aloud to walk around within the premises in yukata and sandals - a typical inn tradition. The rooms are not new, but clean and spacious and we had a suite with two western-style beds and a tatami room with space enough for four futon. I was there with my mother (in her late 70s) and teenage twins and we all loved everything about the place. The hospitality is top class, and the onsen is perfect. They have two private bathrooms for families (no reservation required; first-come first-serve) and large bathrooms for shared bathing. We had all the baths to ourselves and loved it. They have cold water outside the bathrooms and one is with fresh lemon juice, which was just delicious after a nice bath! There is free parking for visitors who drive there and it is only a 20-minute drive from the sand dunes. ８畳以上の部屋に家族四人で泊まったのですが、洋室（ベッド２つあり）と和室（布団４組を敷くことができる）があり、贅沢な気分を満喫できました。 食事は岩牡蠣が特に見事で、食べ盛りの中学生でもお腹いっぱい！と言わせるボリュームでした。朝食は大広間でグループごとに衝立を置いたお部屋でいただきました。朝食も地元で取れたはたはたの一夜干しが出て、それを七輪で焼いて骨までいただきました。食事、お風呂ともに申し分ないです。お風呂は貸し切りの家族風呂（予約不要）と大風呂があり、冷水のサービスが嬉しかった。特にレモン汁入りの冷水は最高！中庭の池の鯉には無料で餌やりができるようになっていて、これは大人も子供も楽しめます。古いけど趣があり、Wi-Fiもあり、申し分なかったです。母には「いい所に泊まらせてもらった」と何度も感謝され、親孝行ができて嬉しかったです。

We were at this hotel a few days before Christmas, Dec. 2019. We are a couple, and our friend had booked it for us. (She was also traveling with us.) One of the tricks to traveling light in Japan, is to take a day (or 2 day) pack, and send your luggage onto a facility a few days out. That allows one to take advantage of the wonderful public transportation, without lugging bags. In this case, we sent our luggage onto the Osaka (KIK) airport. At KIK, we were arriving late, and staying at the relatively new Cabin Hotel. (Check my review there, as well.) When we arrived at the Cabin Hotel, the luggage was not there. Our friend had gone onto Kyoto. The people at the desk had minimal English, and I had minimal Japanese. We did use Google translate to do more communicating, and they truly had not seen our luggage. The situation was a tad desperate. I had my phone lifted in Osaka. (It is unusual, and there are many things you can do to retrieve lost property in Japan - but it was truly lifted, something that can happen in Osaka.) The Cabin Hotel splits the women and men, and it is made for travelers. You're isolated once you go back to your "room", but I had to go. I was exhausted and we had a flight in the morning. My husband contacted our friend in Kyoto, and also went to bed. I also could not figure out >how< the luggage would get back to the US, as you have to be with your luggage for customs. Some crazy (and expensive) scenario played out in my brain, something like, our friend would find it, go through it, ship it to the US? Waking up in the morning, I go to "bath", and come back and there is a note on my bed. "Please come out. There is someone to see you." I pack up quickly and come out. It is Christmas morning, and there are two Japanese men waiting for me, and my husband. One of the men was Fumio Kotani, the President and CEO of the hotel. It becomes clear that our friend called the hotel (who shipped it), and they were so concerned they DROVE ALL THE WAY TO THE AIRPORT. Honestly, I started crying. I could not believe that anyone would be so kind, and worried about my luggage. Our luggage WAS at the airport, but it was at the baggage service, and not at the hotel. As far as I know, it was a small mix-up, but big when no one knows where the luggage was! So here is my review. The hotel is also wonderful, but I feel like other people have probably covered that! My friend liked to go out and back to the hotel, and they were always obliging taking and picking us up. I felt like we were taking advantage sometimes, but if you need it (rain or late), don't hesitate to ask.

“So worth it!!”

My husband and I absolutely adored this hotel. They have so many lovely and attentive staff. They looked after details that other places don't, i.e. like flowers in the guest rooms. My husband and I absolutely adored this hotel. They have so many lovely and attentive staff. They looked after details that other places don't, i.e. like flowers in the guest rooms. Everything was clean and nice. We picked this hotel for the access to the private onsen. The outdoor one is particularly lovely, albeit so hot we could never stay in that long! We had a moments panic after booking as everything notes public baths or bathrooms, but after staying I can see this is just in reference to the onsen. We had a normal en suite bathroom with deep tub. Recommend checking out the famous sand dunes and Tottori Toshogu Shrine and Ochidani Park hiking area,it is gorgeous!

There were like 10 people greeting and bowing to you whenever you come in or go out, lol…Our room was small but clean and good enough for a one night stay. Hotel’s public onsen was good. We didn’t take the dinner option, had a marvellous kaiseiki dinner in town.
