Fuji Kawaguchiko Resort Hotel

“Great Resort Hotel”

Our G Adventures tour group stayed at this hotel because of its close proximity to the Mt Fuji Panoramic Ropeway (separate review.) The hotel is great and has a wonderful restaurant on premise. Be forewarned that clouds can cover the mountain which can result in interrupted views.

More of a standard hotel with an onsen that an actual resort. No complaints about staff. Courteous every time we made requests for extra pillows or towels when going to the onsen. More of a standard hotel with an onsen that an actual resort. No complaints about staff. Courteous every time we made requests for extra pillows or towels when going to the onsen. Read the complaints about lack of variety for breakfast but found it acceptable. If you’re expecting western style breakfast you’ll be disappointed as there’s only sausages or bacon. No one to fry eggs to your requirements. Personally I found it okay as there’s only sausages were sufficient Japanese dishes available. Note that rooms are Japanese style tatami with futons. If you need western style beds, look for another hotel.

“Hotel with good view & public bath facility”

The hotel's public bath is great wih 3 different pools including an outdoor. Room is more spacious compared to hotels in Tokyo. The hotel's public bath is great wih 3 different pools including an outdoor. Room is more spacious compared to hotels in Tokyo. Opted to have dinner included but we realized there are alot of F&B options within 20mins walk so hotel dinner isnt necessary. The dinner buffet is repeative and gets bored after 2 nights. Same issue as breakfast spread. Communication with the staff is not easy and often seems cold. example: when asked for another bottle of water in the room, i was directed to buy from their hotel shop. However the view is awesome. You can see Mt Fuji from the resturant and the room (if you choose the option).

This is a rather large resort hotel which tends to get very busy so it lacks a bit if the personal hospitality from many Japanese hotels. This is a rather large resort hotel which tends to get very busy so it lacks a bit if the personal hospitality from many Japanese hotels. However the Fuji view rooms offer absolutely stunning views on clear mornings and that in itself makes booking here a good decision. The staff is friendly generally but with little English knowledge which makes communication a bit challenging. The Japanese style room was comfortable. The breakfast is a large buffet and the restaurant also has great Fuji views. The hotel was absolutely fine for a one-night stay and also doesn’t break the bank like many other nearby hotels.
