“Excellent, based on multiple yearly stays over the past 15 years.”

I stay at the crest about 12 weekends a year and have done for the past decade. It is a great hotel. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, great food, great location, excellent service. Some of the rooms are a bit dated but are clean and comfortable.

Overall experience was very good. We had to call maintenance 3 times for a leak in the air conditioning unit. They did finally give us a different room. We stayed three nights. “Not as great as usual”

We stay at The Crest a few times per year, and most times I am able o give a 4-5 star review. The property changed hands a while back, and mostly this has ensured the standard was maintained. We stay at The Crest a few times per year, and most times I am able o give a 4-5 star review. The property changed hands a while back, and mostly this has ensured the standard was maintained. This stay, maybe not so much. There is supposed to be a note on my file we always get the second floor and twice in a row we we downgraded to first floor. This particular room had received a verynice updated paint job. However, it has extra-high beds so at 5 '1" I really had to struggle to get up on the mattress. There used to be 4 queen size pillows and now there are 2 king size which is nto nearly as cozy. The toiletries are now affixed in identical dispensers that withoutglasses on I cannot read. Plus I can't take a travel size with me for other trips, and the fragrance is not nearly as luxe. To make matters worse, the sliding mirrordoors on the wardrbber were premanently off their tracks making access to iron/board/robes/hangers next to imoossible. Because we only stayedone night this time, I decided to just live with it. But when I rebook fr ur August stayover on route to Haua Gwaii, I will give a clear list of needs, and see what happens. As for Charley's Lounge, the vibe is as always fabulous. The menu could jse arefresher thugh, and there doesn't seem to be any specials ro much effort to create new GF options.

The Crest Hotel seems to be acknowledged as the best hotel (4 stars) in Prince Rupert. It may be, but it was the poorest of 5 hotels I stayed at on my vacation. My impression is that the hotel was built to be upscale but has been living on its reputation. First I nearly had a major fall because the shower neither had a rubber mat or dimples on the floor. Fortunately I had an extension cord or I could not have used my CPAP. It had neither a lamp with an outlet on the table or an outlet closer than the other side of the room. The carpet looked very tired and the sickly green walls were not very welcoming. The furniture was probably the original and very nicked up. A little work with a color pen would have made it much more attractive. The dining room was an exception with excellent food and a beautiful view of the harbor.
