“Perfect location”

My mom and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in mid-May. The hotel itself was standard. Our room had 2 queen beds and was clean, cozy, and spacious. One perk was the large bathtub that we used with bath salts bought from the Down to Earth gallery in nearby Old Town. The main sellers for this place are its affordability and location. VERY affordable and 100% worth the price. It’s in a safe location and perfectly situated between downtown and Old Town, both just a few minute walk away. The heritage Centre and legislative building were also easily walkable, and even uptown via the frame lake trail. It ranged from 25 degrees Fahrenheit (with harsh arctic winds) to about 55 degrees, but with lots of layers on we had no issues. (-4 to 13 Celsius) They also provide a free airport shuttle. The shuttle bus says Chateau Nova, but it is used for the Nova Inn as well. Just tell the driver you are going to the Nova Inn. If you’ll be in Yellowknife when it’s warm enough to walk, I fully recommend this hotel. No luxurious amenities, but we were in Yellowknife to explore and meet locals and learn about northern culture, not spend our time at a hotel. “Nice hotel in a good location”

Stayed here with a family member and found the hotel to be a great location for exploring. The larger suites have a mini-kitchen with a kettle, microwave, fridge and even a cooktop. Stayed here with a family member and found the hotel to be a great location for exploring. The larger suites have a mini-kitchen with a kettle, microwave, fridge and even a cooktop. We liked the couch/chair for hanging out and watching TV. The amenities (shampoo etc.) were nice too. The staff was super helpful when one of us was injured and needed cabs to get anywhere. Some reviews have mentioned that it seems dated and it's true that the cabinets etc. are not new. But the hotel was spotlessly clean and a good price, and we weren't looking for luxury. We were looking for a good location to walk to museums, the SnowKing Castle, etc. Most of the aurora adventure folks seemed to pick up here. When you get dropped off from the airport shuttle, be aware that the shuttle services several hotels....and some of them also have 'Nova' in the name. Be sure, no matter how tired you are from the flight, to get off at the correct hotel!

We had a very comfortable stay at Nova Inn Yellowknife. We booked a large Deluxe Queen Suite with a kitchenette and a sitting area with a sofa, which made it feel spacious and practical for our trip. Yes, the furniture is a bit outdated, but everything was clean, warm, comfortable, and cozy - which mattered much more to us. The king-size bed was a highlight: an incredibly comfortable mattress, heavenly bedding, and fantastic double pillows. After long nights of chasing the aurora, it truly felt like bliss to sink into such a great bed and get a proper night’s sleep. The location is also excellent - perfectly situated between Old Town and downtown, with everything within easy walking distance. I also want to mention the staff, as I was surprised to see some negative comments in other reviews. Everyone we encountered during our three-night stay was genuinely kind and helpful. On our last day, we asked if a later checkout would be possible so we could align with the (free!) airport shuttle, and they happily accommodated us since it wasn’t too busy after the weekend. We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay and would definitely consider coming back.
