“Back after a 3 year hiatus”

I have been travelling to Miramichi and the Rodd for 12 years or so, tried other hotels in the area. We are back, worth the extra couple of bucks to stay here.

This hotel is quite pleasant and welcomes pets, offering a prime location directly by the river. The sunset views from the restaurant and patio are absolutely stunning. The on-site restaurant, 1809, is highly commendable, and its staff is exceptionally competent and performs their duties admirably. In terms of pricing, both dinner and breakfast offer good value. The beds are genuinely comfortable and rooms are notably spacious.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay at the Rodd. The reception area and the hallway leading to the breakfast area have been nicely updated and feel clean and elegant. Overall, we had a pleasant stay at the Rodd. The reception area and the hallway leading to the breakfast area have been nicely updated and feel clean and elegant. The staff who greeted us upon arrival, as well as the breakfast staff the next morning, were friendly and welcoming. One area that could be be improved is the front desk during busy times. When we checked out, there was only one employee on duty, and he was on the phone assisting someone. Although I waited for several minutes, he was unable to assist or even acknowledge me because he remained on the call, so I eventually had to leave without checking out in person. It may be worth considering having two staff members at the front desk during peak periods to better serve guests and provide additional support for staff. The guest rooms themselves were comfortable and clean but are not as updated as the hotel’s entrance and common areas. Our biggest concern was the noise late at night. We arrived around 10:30–11:00 p.m., and shortly after midnight the music and noise from the room next door became very loud, making it difficult to sleep. I called the front desk, and the employee came up immediately. The noise stopped right away, and we really appreciated the prompt response. The restaurant offers a beautiful view, which we enjoyed. However, the music in the dining room was much too loud and wasn’t the type of relaxing background music we would expect while enjoying a meal. A quieter, more relaxing atmosphere would make the dining experience much more enjoyable. Overall, the hotel has many positive qualities, particularly its friendly staff and attractive common areas. With a few improvements to front desk staffing during busy periods, continued attention to noise, and a quieter restaurant atmosphere, it would provide an even better guest experience.

“Very disappointing”

Asked for early check-in. Not ready upon arrival. Had to ask again and again to see if room could be clean first. Finally told twenty minutes. Still time to get ready. Called for coffee and toast in am. On hold for ten minutes while someone went to check. Never came back on phone. Not available … lisää

Asked for early check-in. Not ready upon arrival. Had to ask again and again to see if room could be clean first. Finally told twenty minutes. Still time to get ready. Called for coffee and toast in am. On hold for ten minutes while someone went to check. Never came back on phone. Not available for room service. Not available even to go to sit in restaurant. Only full buffet breakfast. Full stop. So very disappointing in services. Rooms themselves are lovely. But lacking in customer service and experience.
