“An interesting stop in Sackville ”

We needed a place to stay between new brunswick and springhill and found this online. Booked our room while checking in but probably could have gor same rate with expedia. We needed a place to stay between new brunswick and springhill and found this online. Booked our room while checking in but probably could have gor same rate with expedia. We got the king bed room on the second floor. This is an old house built in 1854. There are knick knacks and trinkets everywhere. It's like going to your grandmother's house. Bed was comfortable. Shower was tiny in a clawfoot tub. Had a working telephone if you needed one. Many dolls throughout hotel. Dinner was nice in the restaurant but you had to pre-order. The choice of wine was a rack where you picked the one you wanted. Food was very tasty. No TV in the room

“Lacking in basic cleanliness”

Stayed here for 1 night few weeks ago. We used this place as a stop over on an extensive road trip. The Main House Inn, is very impressive and the outside porch looks idyllic to grab a coffee and relax. We had a room in a separate building at the back. I was excited to stay at the Inn, as we mostly stay in large hotel chains, so this was going to be our outlier. I understand the idea of an antique inn, HOWEVER antiques still need to be clean. The bed was filthy, the mattress and headboard have not been cleaned in I don't even want to know how long. I wanted to leave but we came on a night that was pouring and we weren't familiar with the area. The TV had 1 channel, as we could not locate the remote. Every single item in the room was unplugged and we had to crawl on the floor to try and figure out which cord is for what. Shower faucet was leaking so bad, while showering it created a puddle on the floor. There were hairs and toothpaste marks on the shelves in the bathroom from past guests. The bureau/dresser was missing handles, and the ones that did open, had random leftover items from previous guests. It appeared altogether that someone started cleaning but got called to do something else and never returned. We were only in there for a total of 6 hours, so we tried to get past it and out the door. This really put me off, trying inns elsewhere.
