Kelly’s View Motel, NS 🇨🇦 A large, super clean room. It had everything we needed. Great shower, comfy beds! Perfect stop if you are planning on driving the Cabot Trail. Daily housekeeping if requested. Nice, friendly staff. Perfect 3 night stay. ⭐️ 🌟 🌟 🌟

It is said, “Don't judge a book by its cover” That's the case at Kelly's View Motel. On the outside it is a typical old style motel, but once you get into the rooms you have a nicely decorated clean room. I can't give it 5 Stars, only because it doesn't have a fancy lobby, restaurant or swimming… lisää

On the outside it is a typical old style motel, but once you get into the rooms you have a nicely decorated clean room. I can't give it 5 Stars, only because it doesn't have a fancy lobby, restaurant or swimming pool, but remove that from the equation and it could be 5 Stars. If you want a comfortable, clean and nice place to stay, this would be it. The owners, Gerti and Reesa, a mother and daughter team, are extremely cordial, pleasant and helpful. Enjoy your stay.

“A decent basic motel”

Kelly's View is modern, clean, and tidy but basic. The owners' are pleasant and obliging. The location isn't particularly convenient: it's a fair drive to restaurants, Sidney, Cabot Trail, and Baddeck. Downsides are no air conditioning and double rather than queen-size beds. Minor but annoying was a lack of towel racks for used towels and face clothes.

Based upon the rave TA reviews, I booked this venue for a nights stay. Check-In was easy with the owner (recognized her from posted pictures). Based upon the rave TA reviews, I booked this venue for a nights stay. Check-In was easy with the owner (recognized her from posted pictures). She was professional but maybe due to the previous reviews, I expected more? Not overly friendly and when my husband asked her for the Wifi password she basically directed him to the back of our room door for instructions. We were assigned Room 4. The motel room is basic - 2 queen beds with clean but damp bedding (it was raining and damp). A table and two chairs, a dresser and mirror, suitcase table, fridge, microwave, coffee maker and filters, cups and glasses were available items in the rather small room. The bathroom toilet is very low and needs to be flushed three times or it runs the risk of overflows. The vanity is tiny (no room for toiletries). Small shampoo, conditioner, hand cream and body wash is supplied as is a hair dryer. The shower worked great. The towels are rather dry and not fluffy. All in all, this is a place that has the basic needs for a nights stay and a decent sleep. Beware: there is no Air Conditioning - only a fan on a stand. This would be a real problem during the hot summer months! The room smelled like a heavily scented deodorant was trying to mask something. We opened the back window and the front windows to create a cross breeze to clear out the smell. The walls are rather thin - we could hear a male next door to our room who spoke nonstop until about only 10:00 pm thank goodness! We could hear him again bright and early at 7:00 am! Restaurants are far and few between in this area but we did go to the Cedar House Bakery and Restaurant about two doors down. (see review). Many stations are available on the TV and the Wifi works great. Its slim pickings for a decent place to stay on the Cabot Trail but I would say if you don't expect much and you want a place to crash for the night, this place is doable. Also, about a 15 min drive down the road you will find a Walmart, Superstore, Dollarama and Sobeys.
