The front desk staff were super friendly. They had construction going on in the underground parking that made for some tight corners but manageable. Will definitely return!

“Beautiful Accommodations in Kingston”

If you haven’t checked out the Marriott in Kingston you don’t know what you’re missing. The hotel has been completely renovated since it took over from the Four Points by Sheraton and it is gorgeous. We were offered an upgrade at check-in to a King Water View on the top floor which we happily accepted. We were so pleasantly surprised when we opened our door. The room was very spacious with modern and pretty decor. My husband was impressed with the giant TV (it had to be at least 75in). The bathroom was also quite large. The shower had fantastic water pressure and even a shaving bar for the ladies. The amenities were lovely as well. They included mouthwash which you don’t see often anymore. There were slippers and robes in the room, a safe, iron & ironing board and extra blankets. There was also a nice assortment of coffee and tea. Everywhere I go, I always try the room coffee and I was impressed with this one. It was very tasty. There was water in the lobby in the afternoon and coffee in the morning which was a nice touch. We didn’t try the bar or restaurant but I know that I’ll be back. Checkout was at noon and that extra hour really makes a difference after a night on the town. We were able to leave our car in the underground parking while we wandered around the next morning which was another lovely offering. There are only a couple areas that could be improved on and they aren’t even deal breakers. There was only one bottle of water in the room rather than two. We had to share. They are undergoing renovations in their underground parking but that’s not the problem. The door to get into the parking is quite narrow. If you’re not a confident driver this would be off-putting. The parking spaces themselves are also very narrow. If the garage was full there would have been challenges opening your doors. As for the construction, if you’ve ever been to Europe in underground parking…this was comparable. 😂 As mentioned above, I will definitely be back to this beautiful hotel. Definitely our new favourite in Kingston.

“Upgrade was actually a downgrade with no sleep!”

I’ll start with the positive - great location, spacious room, comfortable beds. Now for the negatives. Upon arrival, our reservation said we had a Club 2 Queen room with M Club access. The woman at the front desk proudly told me our room had been upgraded because there were hockey teams staying in the hotel for a tournament. When I asked how the M Club worked, she said that we didn’t actually have access to it, even though it said we did. So, not really an upgrade? Then, the room we were given turned out to be an adjoining room and there was absolutely no sound insulation between the rooms. We heard every word our neighbours said/yelled after they returned to their room drunk at 2:00am. They were loud for hours and it was the worst night we have ever experienced in a hotel. Avoid the adjoining rooms if you want to get any sleep! We would have rather taken our chances being on a floor closer to the hockey teams. We stay at Marriott hotels often and I would not return to this one.
