“Busy with children but nice and clean”

Nice clean hotel with a good variety of breakfast items including healthy options such as nuts and eggs although there was limited fresh fruit. Nice clean hotel with a good variety of breakfast items including healthy options such as nuts and eggs although there was limited fresh fruit. We went during March break so the pool was very busy and noisey with children and there was no where to sit so we didn't end up using the pool or hot tub. The pool water felt comfortable and the slide looked fun but you have to book your time ahead of time as it gets very busy during waterslide hours (Which you can only use when they have a lifeguard on duty) Our room faced the highway and we could hear road noise but we really enjoyed the large room with lots of closet space, a table the mini kitchen to prepare or warm up food. Bathroom was VERY small so a large person might have trouble manoeuvring it. Over all a nice stay close to many shopping and eating places. I liked that they had a bar onsite and you could order food in the evening if you didn't want to leave the hotel.

“Good solid hotel”

Good solid hotel. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, very comfortable bed. Rooms are not new but just fine. Breakfast has good variety and is good quality. Nothing fancy here but a good hotel for business in Sudbury. Everything you need. Could just use better choice of tv show at breakfast… lisää

“Staff to the Rescue”

Not often I've had a hotel stay with as many issues arising as my 8-day stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Sudbury, ON. Not often I've had a hotel stay with as many issues arising as my 8-day stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Sudbury, ON. I'd moved into that hotel from another due to location issues, and was immediately please with the overall look and feel of the place. Registration was welcoming and efficient. The first problem: Internet connection. Failure led to two trips to the front desk, another half-hour an hour engaged with a helpful hotel staff. No luck. Following day about an hour-and-a-half on the phone with a committed, pro tech helpline dude, then finally a connection that was steady and auto-connected for the rest of my stay. The aggravation of the situation was mitigated by the persistence of the staff in working toward a solution. I felt supported. The toilet broke, twice. A capable and friendly handyman/plumber arrived promptly, a Newfoundlander named Dan who was a pleasure to chat with. Didn't mind the toilet failure so much, thanks to Dan's efficiency and pleasant, down-east honesty and humour. We compared notes on our Atlantic roots. I enjoyed his company while he replaced the inner-workings of the toilet tank. Next day, the toilet broke again. Chain wouldn't stay attached to the flush lever. Repaired by another hotel staff while I was at work. No harm, no foul. I got to know the front desk staff quite well during these first-world inconveniences. They commented sympathetically on my guest misfortunes. I felt supported even more. I checked out after 8 nights and commented to the staff that I never had so many issues in a hotel then felt sad to be leaving it, I felt so comfortable and at home. I like this place. I expect to be travelling to Sudbury on business again soon and will be reserving a space back at the Fairfield. Nice people. It will feel like coming home.

“Pleasant 2 night stay!”

Lots of pros: The location is very good; not like Sudbury is a huge city, but nice that there were a number of restaurants within a short drive or even within walking distance (if you are willing to brave the cold). We (Mom, Dad and son) were there for 2 nights. Lots of pros: The location is very good; not like Sudbury is a huge city, but nice that there were a number of restaurants within a short drive or even within walking distance (if you are willing to brave the cold). The service throughout was really, really good, including the front desk, the breakfast staff, and the cleaning staff. The feather pillows were switched out for foam pillows when we asked (allergies), the room was very clean, the shower/bathroom had lots of hot water, the mattress was firm (which we prefer), it appeared there were new sheets on the bed, and the bar fridge was a valuable asset (microwave in the room as well though we didn't use it). We used the pool and hot tub once (no one else was there); both were very clean and there were plenty of towels. Dad took advantage of breakfast both mornings and there was no shortage of variety and the staff continually replenished everything. A few very minor cons: We prefer a suite with a separate bedroom. The available suite we had did not fully separate the beds/sleeping area from the sitting/tv area. Not a huge detriment as we were only there for 2 nights but not ideal either. Also, the closet was next to the bed; strange arrangement, but again, hardly a deal breaker. The couch in the sitting area was decidedly 'uncomfortable' but again, not a deal breaker. All-in-all, we had a very good stay and would choose the Fairfield again!
