Lovely resort on the beach as the name indicates. Our one bedroom main level suite was very close to the beach. Some units are a bit longer walk but still close. I've stayed at other resorts with better views of the beach but they were much more expensive. The suite was very clean and had everything we needed. Front desk were very helpful when we needed to change our reservation dates one day before arriving. Thanks!

“A wonderful beachfront property”

The suites are spacious, and while very few are actually oceanview, the glow from the sunset reaches the majority of suites and the beach is a minute away. We've been to Cox Bay Beach Resort multiple times and have consistently had a good stay. The suites are spacious, and while very few are actually oceanview, the glow from the sunset reaches the majority of suites and the beach is a minute away. On our recent stay, we found the matress to be quite sunken in (old?) and not so comfortable. Additionally, it was tough to find a time to get into the hottub or the common space and large groups seems to claim the space for evenings. If there was a way to prebook access that would be great, or have the hot tub as open to all, versus a key sign out system. In our past stays, we found with this open system, we could use the hot tub multiple times (just walk by to see if its free or not), rather than not being able to at all because all keys are assigned out all evening.

“Some Good-Room For Improvement”

First of all, this is a beautiful location and the suite was like a small condo with kitchen facilities well stocked. There is a bright patio, and lots if light when sunny. First of all, this is a beautiful location and the suite was like a small condo with kitchen facilities well stocked. There is a bright patio, and lots if light when sunny. We were on the ground floor. There is a dishwasher and washer/dryer. Good supply of coffee and sugars if you needed them. The grounds are nice and West-Coasty. Lots f maintenance crew around during the day. There are two BBQ grills available for your use outside the community room. Take your favorite beef or chicken, as well as a glass of wine, and enjoy. Note the rules, and make sure you clean the grill when finished. (not everyone does). Now to the negatives: The BED consists of a mattress (a tired pillow-top coil) on top of a very low platform. Sit on one side of it, and you will sink considerably. We're a couple f seniors, and can tell you that this thing is giving us big back-aches. We asked the staff if all the beds in the facility were like this, but they didn't know. I asked them to check with some senior person,, and they said they would heck with "maintenance". This is not a maintenance issue. It's a facility issue. We recommend that the owners or senior people do an audit of the sleeping facilities, and check your mattresses in EVERY unit. I mean...you're making serious revenue throughout the year, and you can't supply good mattresses? The unit could use some hard-earned cleaning. We found a potato-chip nestled against the stive. The dining table hadn't been thoroughly cleaned or polished in some time, and there were sticky patches. The kitchen counter also had some sticky patches on it.. TV is all pay-per-view, so don't expect to arrive and simply turn on your favorite new or entertainment channel. Not a big deal for us since we bring books anyway. The bath robes supplied had wrapped a lot of sauna bodies. Tired robes, and should be replaced. We're only giving this "3 stars" because the bed was critical to our enjoyment. It's no fun if you're sore the next day. The management needs to budget for renewal of beds. We won't be returning customers.
