Celina, Bruce and Peter were very friendly and helpful; two thumbs up for effort and responsiveness to requests. Only thing is that their English was not fluent, but they definitely do their best to understand and meet your requests. Well done! Location is very good, right next to the landmark LiJiang Waterfall hotel, directly across the Twin Pagodas and walking distance to Zhenyang Pedestrian Street. Complimentary bottles of water provided as much as you need; complimentary hot milk and sweet desserts each evening between 8:00 to 10:00pm. L’Occitane branded shower amenities provided; individual toothbrushes for kids and adults. We ordered the private day-hire MPV 8hrs use for RMB900. Vehicle was clean and very comfortable for up to 4people with 3-4medium sized luggages. Airport private transfer by MPV one-way is RMB300. Driver was friendly and helpful with the bags and with buying entrance tickets; but he didn’t speak any English at all though. Overall, met all our expectations.

The Li River Hotel is a charming small hotel, with imaginative interior décor to a very high standard. We had a third floor lake view bedroom which was spacious and beautifully furnished. The hotel is centrally located, close to the bustling night market which was a ten minute walk away. Breakfast was good, with a wide range of Asian and Western choices. The staff were uniformly charming, with the manager of the hotel seeing us off personally. Highly recommended TIP Book a river view, rather than a city view room if at all possible. The city view appeared to be an unappealing close up of an adjacent block of flats. Also book a high floor room for best views.

The hotel was in a very convenient location and the staff were very focussed on providing a high standard of customer service. The breakfast was one of the best we had throughout China. The hotel was in a very convenient location and the staff were very focussed on providing a high standard of customer service. The breakfast was one of the best we had throughout China. There were so many positive points about the hotel. Our only issue was that our 'upgraded room' was on the Ground Floor. The room itself was wonderful but it was a short distance from reception and backed on to the childrens' play area. That meant the room was noisy for much of the day and we were left wondering why they chose to put rooms in that location. We would recommend they find a way to seal it off from the reception noise and relocate the play area.

We had an upgraded room on the top floor, and we had a wonderful view . It was very modern and elegant, very good beds, a big and clean bathroom with both bath tub and shower, a dressing room etc. so it was a suite. The location of the hotel is great! It was very modern and elegant, very good beds, a big and clean bathroom with both bath tub and shower, a dressing room etc. so it was a suite. The location of the hotel is great! The general manager (?) Robin did an excellent job with assisting with finding a private guide, car and ordering boattrip for us on the Li River etc. The breakfast buffet was good. The reason why I don't give the hotel top score is that the staff ought to communicate better in English to get a topscore, and also I did not find any Western toilets in the public areas of the hotel which I think is not good enough if you want to have International guests. Also, I was very surprised to find information about how the A/C was working, was only in Chinese.. If I ever return to Guilin, I would love to stay here again.
