The price was $65 a night for a $200 a night room. The food well prepared the rooms immaculate. I have nothing but good to report from this wonderful city full (well no not full pretty empty actually) of wonderful people. I love China but this is magnificent value for money.

This hotel is a favorite of mine anywhere. I have spent two to six nights here on different occasions. Holiday Inn Express hotels in China are sometimes nicer and more modern than some of those in the US, and don't let the word "Express" fool you. This hotel, although it has fewer amenities than 4-5 star hotels has the service and comfort of a 4-5 star hotel. (It does not have a fitness center, but does have a laundry room.) The room design is their signature look, very thoughtfully designed, with wardrobe, shelves, television, small sofa and a desk, all in the right places, It is modern and totally spacious and comfortable: great bed, extra pillows, great shower with a modern glass shower stall, and an area for work and relaxation, as well as blackout drapes. The rooms have a window that opens, and a heating system within the room that you can control, so you can get the room as comfortable as you like it. The restaurant is not furnished in a fancy way, but the food is actually quite good, and there are a few excellent signature dishes as well as their breakfast spread. The prices for lunch and dinner foods are fair for a tourist hotel. The staff are superlative, professional, kind, attentive, and good-natured. I was impressed by Elaine, May and Jennifer, who I got to know a bit on my repeat visits, and who were unfailingly kind and attentive. All the staff are quite good at this hotel. English is spoken by a few of the staff, which helped me as well. For the foreign tourist: In the winter there are not many people staying here. If you like a more quiet environment... this hotel is less populated in the winter months. This is a non-smoking hotel so the air is pretty good, but occasionally when it is crowded, be advised that the Chinese people are heavy smokers, so sometimes there will be the smell of smoke, although the customers should not be smoking in their rooms. This is one of the quieter hotels I have stayed in in China. You can put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on your door, and the housekeeping staff will not disturb you. However, guests sometimes come in late at night and are a bit noisy after a night of drinking, and the guests in general bang their doors going in and out. I have experienced these issues, with smoke and noise, in just about every hotel I have stayed at in China, and have gotten more used to it. I highly recommend the hotel, in an interesting area of Inner Mongolia, where you can visit many tourist areas by taxi.

Keep in mind when you come to Ordos you are not going to meet a lot of fellow travellers as this place is known as a ghost city. This hotel is very clean and has decent food. Location isn't good for restaurants and cafés, if you want to eat it will be at the hotel or take a taxi somewhere. Not … lisää

Keep in mind when you come to Ordos you are not going to meet a lot of fellow travellers as this place is known as a ghost city. This hotel is very clean and has decent food. Location isn't good for restaurants and cafés, if you want to eat it will be at the hotel or take a taxi somewhere. Not a lot of English is spoken here, but they are still friendly and try their best to help you. One front desk girl spoke some English and she was very helpful and kind. Prices aren't the greatest for budget traveling, you could find cheaper places.

Ordos is not a densely-populated city in general but there are plenty options in areas of the city that offer at least some entertainment, dining and shopping within walking distance. I ended up relocating from this hotel after one night for this reason.
