This is the most beautiful JW Marriott in mainland China. Very close to tourist attractions. The attached restaurant is also very good and the breakfast is also special. As a platinum member, we were not able to upgrade to a suite (they have very limited suites to upgrade to), but the superior room is also very beautiful with a beautiful courtyard. There is no executive lounge. 这是中国大陆最漂亮的JW万豪酒店，孔子主题非常有特色。距离景点很近。附属的餐厅也非常不错，早餐也有特色。作为白金会员，我们未能升级到套房（他们可供升级的套房非常有限），但是高级房也非常漂亮，有漂亮的院子。没有行政酒廊。

Highlights: - The lobby, the courtyard, many different corridors and great interiors are quite unique and somehow in line with the Confucius temple complex nearby. - The breakfast choice was extraordinary and the service was great. The supervisor Daisy was so kind to provide me or personalised juices and coffee in person. In addition she gave me a special hotel own sparkling juice as a present. - I received an upgrade to a wonderful King suite and the design of the different rooms with connections is outstandingly unique - Very close to the famous temple and mansion from Confucius - The area was so quiet without any noises from outside Potentials - There is no Executive Lounge including afternoon tea and happy hour - it was a bit challenging to find the right way between guest room and hotel lobby/restaurant, it will be nice to have a simple map to follow

The JW Marriott Qufu is a nice hotel. The lobby and the grounds are beautiful, and the rooms are elaborate. Check in was a breeze with friendly staff. However, according to the front desk staff, the hotel has only two suites available for upgrade, which means it is very challenging to get a suite or use Nightly Upgrade Awards at this hotel. At booking, I wanted to use a NUA to upgrade my room, but no upgrades of any room type were available. The front desk put us in a courtyard room, which is better than the standard room I booked, which is a nice gesture. Just to note, a suite was still available to book when I checked in, but the front desk staff told me that this suite is not for elite upgrades and the two upgradable suites were already occupied. Unfortunately, the design of the room doesn’t have business travelers in mind, and there’s no desk or desk chair. There is a sofa and a round table, but no power outlets to use with the table. Therefore, to work, I had to move the table to the edge of the sofa and sit on the foot stool so that I could reach the power outlets for my computer. Sitting on a footstool is an uncomfortable way to work. The Marriott app doesn’t refer to this hotel as a resort, but at check in, I was told that there’s no executive lounge at this hotel because it’s a “resort”. So don’t book this hotel if you’d like to take advantage of the executive lounge for happy hour and breakfast. I recommend that Marriott update their app reflecting the hotel’s “resort” status so travelers know they won’t be able to use a lounge when they book this hotel. In summary, the hotel is beautiful and the staff are nice, but upgrades are scarce, there’s no executive lounge, and working from a sofa is inconvenient and uncomfortable.
