Wow, impressive hospitality and very beautiful rooms aswell 👍👍 I want to come again for sure next time 😉 The restaurants were quite hospitable and very high standards.

An interesting hotel away from the shopping town. It’s name sold by itself. The only issue I faced was the distance of room from the main lobby and dining facilities. An interesting hotel away from the shopping town. It’s name sold by itself. The only issue I faced was the distance of room from the main lobby and dining facilities. Due to the high altitude, it is indeed a challenge for me to walk the entire journey towards meals. As for quality and comfort, it is of top notch. All the facilities are complete except I need to know how to use those gadgets. Oxygen is available in the room. Comfort as it should be is of no question. Good for business and corporate groups too.

Service is choppy with reception staff the worst. Requests to housekeeping for items like mouthwashes are promptly delivered and attitude from staff at restaurant during breakfast can be on-off depending if there are suited manager stationed. To be honest, another local hotel we stayed at in Nyingchi had better service than here. The property is huge and rooms are scattered across many buildings - we stayed for 3 nights over 2 different intervals and were given rooms in different buildings (never in the main building), and on our second stay for 2 nights, they wanted to give us a room in a building down the hill, which means that we have to track up the hill for breakfast every day. I requested for another room that does not require us to track up and down the hill as the city is 3500m above elevation and the lady at reception was actually quite rude to say that because “you guys booked the cheapest room so that’s only a few rooms left”. Nonetheless she gave us a room in the backyard on ground floor and we found the room to be actually better than our first room on the first stay despite the room being smaller. For one, the electrical switches in the this room were working, and the bathroom nightlight was also working. The switches in our first room for the 1-night stay was actually not working and the bathroom nightlight was broken - which man that if you want to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, you have to turn on all the bathroom lights at once and that will create huge brightness throughout the whole room. We actually find lighting to be a problem in this hotel because there’s no way to have small lights turned on in the room. You either have multiple lights switched on, all at the same time, and the night light provided are so bright and scattered across the entire length of the wooden panel that the room still remains rather bright. The solution we found was to leave the cupboard doors ajar and use the lighting from these cupboards as a nightlight so one doesn’t trip in the middle of the night. The minibar has a can of local Tibetan beer and a can of local kombucha-like drink (that tasted weird) with two Nespresso pods and two teabags, and if you want more coffee or tea, you can just down the Butler service button. I tried asking for caffeine free chamomile teabags, but they said they don’t have it, and during breakfast, I also requested for either peppermint or caffeine free teas but they also say they don’t have any. we had breakfast included in our rate and service was prompt in delivering the items from the ala carte menu. Overall, I find the buffet spread to be very adequate. I have stayed in a few St Regis globally, and this will not be the best in terms of service, but in this city, there are very limited good international standard hotels, and other than this the only other international standard hotel is the aging Shangri La, so don’t expect extremely dedicated and attentive service here and just treat this St Regis as a normal business style hotel to manage expectations
