We booked the family suite with a bunk bed for our family of five, and the kids absolutely loved it! The bunk bed with a slide was a highlight, along with the thoughtful kids’ amenities and play items in the room. However, the hotel itself feels a bit old, and there was a lingering smoke smell in the lobby. A modern makeover would definitely enhance the overall experience. That said, what the hotel lacks in ambience, it makes up for in service. From check-in to breakfast to concierge assistance, the staff were all friendly and helpful, and they could converse in basic English, which was appreciated. The location is great, within walking distance to Nanqiang Pedestrian Street and Nanping Pedestrian Street, making it convenient for exploring the area.

Great location, comfortable rooms, excellent and sincere service staff. I did wish for fluffier and “fatter” pillows but everything else was wonderful. “Great Hotel in the heart of Kunming”

The hotel has big clean rooms with comfy beds. AC works well and double glazed windows keeps sound out. Close to two metro stations, pedestrian streets, restaurants and bars. The hotel is very well located for business and one of the best districts of the city. The hotel was clearly something else before, apparently belonged to a bank. The hotel is very well located for business and one of the best districts of the city. The hotel was clearly something else before, apparently belonged to a bank. The carpets and upholstery are old and musty, the breakfast is ok, the gym is fine. If you speak mandarin, the staff is great, if you do not, you will struggle. It is the least “Crown Plaza” Crown Plaza I have ever stayed in. Would I stay again? Only if the new Grand Hyatt coming soon is overpriced. Need to check that out. The pricing at this hotel is fine. It just could be so much more.
