“A great base in Samos Town”

We stayed at Paradise for a week at the beginning of May 2026. Its location is excellent with a large free car park opposite the hotel. The room was great and had everything we needed - plenty of storage space, safety deposit box, air con and a balcony with clothes drying rack. Extremely comfortable bed! The bathroom needed modernising but was functional and clean so no issues for us. It was very quiet during our stay, just us at breakfast most days! Breakfast is quite limited and the same every day but perfectly adequate.

“A Little Gem”

We stayed in this hotel for three nights in late May. The hotel has an unprepossessing appearance – this does not reflect its character. It has 48 rooms and we were on the top floor – with, we believe, two floors of accommodation below and service floors below that. It is on a major road but set back in its own garden and facing away from the road. We arrived by taxi from Pythagorio, but Vathy Town has its own ferry port (the hotel is probably 25 minutes from the ferry port – and too far to walk with luggage unless very fit!). A taxi from the airport might cost about 30 euros. There is no on-site car parking but on street parking is available and a surface car park is opposite the hotel. The reception area is at the top of a flight of steps from the garden. Like much of the interior of the hotel it is self-evidently Greek. There were no public areas immediately accessible to us although we could have sat in the garden. There was no bar or restaurant available during our stay and the pool is not in use. We understand there to be two types of room available and we took a room which had been refurbished earlier in 2025. The refurbishment had been well done. The room was light and airy, not large but not cramped and comfortable for two people. We had a balcony overlooking the garden and an adjacent field. The room had a desk and a chair but no easy chair. Everything was in brand new order including a huge fridge and freezer!! There were tea/coffee making facilities and water in the fridge. There was a small safe – key from reception but with no charge. The bed was very comfortable with good quality linen. The bathroom had a walk-in shower, good quality towels and basic toiletries replenished regularly. There was plenty of storage space. There was no noise from inside the hotel albeit the hotel was not full. There was some noise from the road but this declined at night. Wifi was good and aircon worked. Housekeeping, both in the room and corridor and reception area was fine and everything left clean. Only breakfast is offered by the hotel. The breakfast was from a self-service buffet but staff were on hand to provide anything we wanted. The lady however had no English and whilst enthusiastic language did present a barrier. The range of the buffet was not wide but many of the items were sourced locally and were tasty. The breakfast room is a little overwhelming. It is a large room of some vintage. Clean and tidy, but when we were there not well used. This, to our mind, is reflective of the early season clientele who did appear to be largely Greek and business travellers not wanting the breakfast of we independent travellers. The hotel is a five minute walk from the harbour, but perhaps a 15 minute stroll to reach the main restaurant and shopping area in the Old Town. There were plenty of restaurants of varying quality. There were plenty of shops. We saw no evidence of large groups or of package tourists in the hotel. The staff were delightful – even when language was the barrier we have noted. Nothing was too much for them, they were generous and, as with the hotel itself, hospitably Greek. This hotel will not suit everyone, it is not slick and glossy, it is archetypically Greek exhibiting the very best of phyloxenia.

“Friendly place”

A clean and quiet hotel, the staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is on a back street of the promenade; easy to shop and walk :) The garden is lush and well-maintained. The pool was closed when we stayed, but it will be beautiful when it opens.
