This hotel is a real gem. It belonged to the current owner's grandfather. About 400 metres from the port, it is totally quiet and restful. Breakfast is served on the terrace. As usual for Greece, the staff are all very friendly and helpful. The rooms are not numbered, but named for Greek Gods (ours was Zeus). Don't waste your time asking for a quiet room - they all are! They don't have facilities for lunch or dinner, but there are many restaurants in Hydra town, and the owner provides a map of those in the immediate vicinity. Walk up through the cobbled streets to find Leonard Cohen's house, and the old pharmacy (no photos allowed inside though). There are just a few vehicles on the island (fire appliance, garbage truck, etc), so everything is carried either by donkey/pony or in battery powered hand trolleys. Walk round to the western headland to see the sunset and the Boy and a Dolphin sculpture.

“Gorgeous boutique hotel”

This is an absolutely gorgeous boutique hotel. Thoroughly recommended. Beautiful bedroom and lovely balcony and it is quiet: away from the bustle of town. But just a short walk to the port. Super friendly staff and a very nice breakfast. Very happy to have found this place!

“Authentic Greek Experience”

Fantastic authentic Greek accommodations. This was once two larger homes that have been converted into guest suites. Very central location (although Hydra isn't that large) and a wonderful breakfast. Staff are friendly and the owners are very knowledgeable and helpful. A wonderful experience.

“AN EXCELLENT HOTEL BUT…….”

The hotel is lovely, beautifully and tastefully renovated. The staff friendly, all very clean and well run. It’s very quiet and really strange but welcoming not to hear any cars or motor bikes, just an occasional clip clop along the road outside. I can’t fault the hotel but feel I must add a war… lisää

It’s very quiet and really strange but welcoming not to hear any cars or motor bikes, just an occasional clip clop along the road outside. I can’t fault the hotel but feel I must add a warning. I always do a lot of research on destinations so knew what to expect. However on all sites, including the hotels website, it’s advertised as a three minute walk from the harbour, along a flat road, no steps, some even advertise it as easy. This is an inaccuracy, in reality it is a seven/eight minute walk up a slow steady incline. We had to have a puffing stop half way up, and yes we are not youngsters, but this information will be important if not vital to some. Otherwise we had an excellent stay.
