Make no mistake, the rooms are small and the bathroom is even smaller. If you can live with that you will find this hotel excellent value for money. Our room was spotlessly clean with reasonable quality linens and towels. The bed was comfortable, the aircon chilly and the wifi effective even with two devices at once. Our room had no windows, which was great for sleeping. The management was very professional with quick check in and out. The room was designed by a traveller as even though it was small there was room for our two backpacks to lie flat and there were hanging pegs and a shelf under the kettle. The location is right near one of the heritage areas and the old , previous station.

“Decent room for the price, but damp in room”

Stayed here for 3 nights in room 12. Generally, the hotel is clean, and for a budget hotel reasonably maintained. Like most budget hotels, a little TLC would not hurt. Stayed here for 3 nights in room 12. Generally, the hotel is clean, and for a budget hotel reasonably maintained. Like most budget hotels, a little TLC would not hurt. The room has no window or any natural ventilation. I could see some mould on the ceiling of the room and on the shower pipes. I could smell damp the moment I entered the room, but given the Malaysian MCO situation, it was acceptable. The bed, towels and sheets were clean, but in real need of replacement. The mattress cover was badly stained, although I thought it smelled clean. The hand towel was in a deplorable state, virtually falling apart as my photos show. The bed was okay and about par for a budget hotel. There was also a pair of flippers supplied, which I would’ve only used in the most desperate of situations (look at the photos). There was AC in the room, but I found it unreliable. In the main, it works. Sometimes it blows cold air as expected, other times it blows lukewarm air. It was more noticeable because I was stuck in the room most of the day due to the aforementioned MCO. Otherwise I would've been out sightseeing and therefore less of an issue. The reception has drinks and snacks, at reasonable prices. The reception is also manned all the time as far as I could tell. The staff are professional, courteous and do a good job of keeping the hotel clean. Location wise, Axis Hotel is pretty much in the middle of Taiping where most of the Heritage trail and attractions are. The Taiping Lake Gardens is about 1km walk away. Overall, I had a reasonable stay at the hotel. The facilities are fine for the price paid. The facilities are about what's expected. The thing that really let the room down was the damp in the room and toilet/bathroom. Otherwise, I would’ve given the hotel another star.

“Cheap but abit rough around the eges”

We stayed here for a night after having turned up at our first choice and it was closed. Being late, we found the next alternative which was axis. The receptionist was really friendly and we took a double room with aircon for the night for 70RM which seems cheap. The room was sufficient for a night… lisää

We stayed here for a night after having turned up at our first choice and it was closed. Being late, we found the next alternative which was axis. The receptionist was really friendly and we took a double room with aircon for the night for 70RM which seems cheap. The room was sufficient for a nights sleep but more attention should be paid to cleaning. The bathroom is very small and when taking a shower the toilet is also soaked. Kettle, towels etc were provided which was a plus and a good central location to see the town.

After 2 night in Melaka, i ride ahead to Taiping for my relaxable road trip. Another 2 nights in Taiping enjoying the food and drink. I found this hotel after i reach Taiping cause of i booked a wrong hotel in a wrong location so i have to find a hotel when i reach Taiping. It show this hotel is price is fine so i just check it for a night until next day i extend one more night but i have to move to other room cause the 1st room have taken next day. Room is fine, clean but the design is a bit weird. Who care of the design then. Toilet a bit small n 2nd night the wifi and TV is OFF cause of the thunderstorms.
