This is a really good 2-star hotel (rating by booking.com). We stayed here twice, on the way to and from grey whale watching, and had a very pleasant stay. This is a really good 2-star hotel (rating by booking.com). We stayed here twice, on the way to and from grey whale watching, and had a very pleasant stay. The rooms are simply furnished but comfortable for two. For the second stay we had 2 queen beds and a kitchenette (the room cost more). The bathrooms are clean and functional, and the showers are surprisingly good. Both rooms had air con, but even better, ceiling fans; ideal for the nighttime in February / March. Breakfast is a simple continental style with coffee, yoghurt and toast, served in your room. The smaller rooms on the ground floor have a shared patio area which was very pleasant for breakfast. Some of the larger rooms upstairs have balconies. There is also a charming rooftop area for relaxing in, and a bakery in the hotel reception that sells delicious cakes, but is not always open. If you have a car, there is free parking opposite the hotel. But be warned, the street is one way (north to south), with no signposts anywhere to indicate that it is. We saw cars and trucks going both ways and did not think twice until one day we encountered a police car coming toward us indicating for us to back off. The police did not stop (after we got out of the way in the car park), but the hotel staff confirmed that it is one way! This is a great hotel for the price in a really good location, and I have no hesitation in recommending it.

We stayed here one night after coming back from Magdalena Bay and before flying home. We had a room on the second floor for 3 adults which was very spacious. We loved the shower! We stayed here one night after coming back from Magdalena Bay and before flying home. We had a room on the second floor for 3 adults which was very spacious. We loved the shower! The included breakfast was great with coffee, yogurt, and bread. Parking was nearby, but did get crowded. They have filtered water in the lobby, which was a nice touch. I'd stay here again for sure!

“Great stay in Loreto”

We stayed at Posada del Cortes for a couple of days both before and after a multi-day sea kayaking trip from Loreto, and were very happy with our stay. We stayed at Posada del Cortes for a couple of days both before and after a multi-day sea kayaking trip from Loreto, and were very happy with our stay. The hotel is in a great location for walking to the Malecón and also to the pedestrian street that goes in front of the Misión which has lots of great restaurants. The staff and management are friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. The hotel is clean and charming, with multiple outdoor patios including a lovely rooftop patio which is especially delightful for drinking your morning coffee and watching the sunrise, or taking up a glass of wine and watching the sunset. The hotel has secure parking, and also stored our bags for us while we were on our kayaking trip. Do bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper, as the Misión enthusiastically chimes beginning early in the morning, and there is some late night music from local establishments. We highly recommend Posada del Cortes and would definitely stay here the next time we travel to Loreto.

We stayed here on 2 separate nights as part of tour of Baja organized by Pacificcatalyst on their boat MV Westward. The first night we were in room 7 upstairs and then went west to see Grey whales at Magdalena Bay and after a night there, we returned to Loreto and were in room 3. In room 3, the plug didn't fit the sink, so hard to shave. Warm water took about 7 minutes of running shower before it became remotely warm. It was surrounded by palm trees, had a lovely courtyard for groups to meet in and was quite quiet and only a short walk to sea front. They also stored safely our kit that we needed to leave behind when moving to a small room at Magdalena Bay and it was safe.
