“An atmospheric hotel in pretty El Fuerte.”
This an atmospheric hotel full of history set in the pretty town of El Fuerte. This is a boutique hotel with lots of character and lovely gardens. You almost feel as though you are staying in a museum or someone’s historic home. When we stayed there were few other guests so it was very quiet.

“Must stay if your Chepe train ride ends in El Fuerte”
I stayed there because the hotel owner opened it to our Gate 1 guided tour during pandemic- now it seems open for booking via expedia as well. - Room: will mention later under tips. - Courtyard, garden decorations: top notch and probably the main reason to stay. “Such a lovely unique place!!”
So unique!! The property was originally founded as a Jesuit Mission 400 years ago. The family has owned the property for 200 years. The present owner was born in room number 5, who we met.
