I had a great trip to Xalapa - I visited Coatepec too and really enjoyed my time. Staying at the Gran hotel Xalapa was nice, as it is not 'yet another' of the big hotel chains, it has persinality and character and I'm sure that back in its heyday, ti was THE hotel to come and stay in when visiting Xalapa. The room was large, the bathroom had been refurbished and the bed was comfortable. A pleasant surprise was the internet - the signal was good and it was one of the fastest services I have used in any hotel. Don't get me wrong. This isn't a 5-star hotel at all, but I ejjoyed the character and the uniqueness of the place. The buffet breakfast was very nice and the staff were all friendly. I'd come back for sure!

“Good meeting venue, but in need of repairs ”

Came here for a conference, but actually stayed offsite because hotel sold out beforehand. This is likely the best location, but the hotel itself could use repair. Tile floors are chipped, cracked, and tiles are missing. Pool itself is nice, but buildings need to be painted and have s hew holes … lisää

Came here for a conference, but actually stayed offsite because hotel sold out beforehand. This is likely the best location, but the hotel itself could use repair. Tile floors are chipped, cracked, and tiles are missing. Pool itself is nice, but buildings need to be painted and have s hew holes where rot has occurred in the soffits. Service of hotel staff is the solid savior making up for the lack of maintenance. Whatever need I has was anticipated and met immediately. Cheerful staff helped me many times. Conference rooms are good enough with good sound and good ability to see and hear the speakers.

“Comfortable hotel”

Very friendly and helpful staff, even though we don't speak any Spanish. Good selections on the buffet breakfasts. Recommended for a quiet and relaxing stay. Will be going again in the fall as the hotel made us feel very welcome.

The rooms were good sized but not as nice as the common areas. One special treat was their bar which one night they opened just for our group. The drinks were yummy and strong.
