We had a great stay for 1 night in Miyajima. The hotel feels very traditional but at the same time is very foreigner-friendly, with information well provided in English. The Japanese breakfast and kaiseki dinner with delicious and served lots of oysters as it was oyster season when we visited. The bathhouse is not too large but it was not crowded when I was there, and there were lots of toiletries provided. The location is a bit far from the ferry and the main parts of Miyajima, but there is a shuttle bus that runs every 15 minutes, and they will also bring your luggage to you at the ferry after you've checked out. It was very easy to call the hotel from the tourist info center at the ferry to get picked up as well.

“Great location, great food, great staff”

Wonderful stay at a traditional themed Japanese hotel. Two night stay at the hotel which is a short mini bus ride from the town. Met by staff bowing. Shoes to be left in reception. Wonderful stay at a traditional themed Japanese hotel. Two night stay at the hotel which is a short mini bus ride from the town. Met by staff bowing. Shoes to be left in reception. Traditional rooms so sleep on the floor and eat in the room at a low table. Great views from the hotel which is on the beach with plenty of deer in the area. The sea water on the beach was not great for swimming as full of sea weed. Breakfast was traditional with raw fish etc. The food was magnificent. A great two day stay. More than 3 days would probably be too much

“An amazing experience”

Such an amazing and authentic Japanese experience at this hotel. Out of all the places and hotels we stayed in around Japan, this was our favourite. Such an amazing and authentic Japanese experience at this hotel. Out of all the places and hotels we stayed in around Japan, this was our favourite. The staff were absolutely lovely and super accommodating. The hotel was also full of experiences and all needs were met at all times. If you are after a genuine Japanese experience, this is the place to go. Their transport system was also fantastic. It was also fantastic that dinner and breakfast were provided. We got to experience traditional Japanese meals (we liked most of it)! So if you’re open to trying new foods, definitely give this a go.
