Staying at this hotel longer than a week is highly not recommended. Primarily because of the restaurant, where all sorts of food are served buffet style. Staying at this hotel longer than a week is highly not recommended. Primarily because of the restaurant, where all sorts of food are served buffet style. I am sorry, but I needed to sit on a diet after that 🤣 Jokes apart, the hotel place is worth exploring for historical artefacts and wellness treats. The hotel staff was superfriendly, coming from various parts of the world speaking different languages. There is also a new viking ship (Hardrade) and some hiking trails (Krokkleiva) to check out nearby.

“Pretty area and nice traditional hotel”

We stayed at this hotel so we could visit the Art and Industry Museum called The Twist. The hotel is located in a pretty area outside of Oslo (about 45 minutes). We stayed at this hotel so we could visit the Art and Industry Museum called The Twist. The hotel is located in a pretty area outside of Oslo (about 45 minutes). The bed and room were comfortable — perhaps they should have flater pillows to choose from though. 🤣 There is a restraunt and bar. The breakfast was fine. Great service in the dining area for breakfast. The lady that checked us in was very kind and professional. Check-out was very easy as we paid when we checked in! The grounds of the hotel are lovely. The room had a TV and a small sofa to sit on. Lots of art work all over the hotel public areas so take a walk around and look at everything.

“Nice, but also average”

Family run, historic hotel outside Oslo. Lovely natural surroundings. Food used to be a lot better, sorry to say but have fallen down the last years. Staff is serviceminded, but not very professional. They hire young danish student with little or no hotel & restaurant experience. Why dont they g… lisää

Family run, historic hotel outside Oslo. Lovely natural surroundings. Food used to be a lot better, sorry to say but have fallen down the last years. Staff is serviceminded, but not very professional. They hire young danish student with little or no hotel & restaurant experience. Why dont they get better or proper training? Rooms are also a disappointed. They are absolutely no anemetis, no refri/minbar, very poor TV, slow WIFI. The sound isolation is also not good, you can wake up in the morning by listening to other guests opening their doors and talking and walking in the hallway. And this was in the new part of the hotel. The training, spa and r & r fascilites are average, nothing very special. This could be an adequate hotel for a stay instead of sleeping in Oslo if you are travelling in Norway during your holidays. This is a typical conference or large-tourist group hotel. Large groups of people, all in and out, etc.
