“Great place to stay”

Great location and great service. We were welcomed by the owner Freddy. We were able to leave our bags in storage. Very helpful staff. Great breakfast and excellent coffee. Easy to get around and close ri the train station. Would highly recommend staying here

“The view of the ruins and the sound of the river flowing from the balcony is like no other”

Overall, we enjoyed staying at this hotel. What we liked: 1. The location and the view! It's probably the closest you could get to the Ollantaytambo ruins. Overall, we enjoyed staying at this hotel. What we liked: 1. The location and the view! It's probably the closest you could get to the Ollantaytambo ruins. The view from the balcony (if you get the rooms by the river) is just amazing and you can hear the river water flowing. Such an amazing experience. It's 2 blocks away from the plaza and not too far from the train station to Machu Picchu. It's worth the price. 2. The hotel room we got was big, clean, and comfortable. 3. The staff was nice. 4. You can store your belongings before check in and after check out. 5. Free breakfast eventhough it's the usual continental breakfast. If you didn't get a room with a view at least the dining room has the Ollantaytambo ruins view while you eat breakfast. Some things that could be improved: 1. The toilet seat 😔... It was not the right size for the toilet and it was very loose and slided everywhere. 2. The mini fridge smelled bad. They need to make sure it is ready for when a new customer arrives. 3. It will be great if they have laundry service or laundry machine.

I’ll start with the pros first… great location with great views of the ruins and very comfortable beds. The new attached restaurant (Watya) is AWESOME and the bar tender Chris is fabulous. The cons… we speak very little Spanish and definitely received an eye roll at check in (although we know basic phrases and were using google translate). They asked if we wanted the room cleaned on day 2, I just asked for the trash to be taken out because TP isn’t flushed in Peru, so it’s kind of a hygiene issue if trash doesn’t get emptied, they never emptied it. The breakfast was horrible. I’m usually about a basic continental breakfast but coffee wasn’t even included and the breads were stale and the fruit was not good, and there was minimal other options. Additionally the lights in the rooms glowed… so even when we turned the lights off the room wasn’t totally dark which was odd (I’ve never seen glowing overhead lights). Probably would not stay here again but if you are just looking for a spot to rest your head, the beds are comfy.
