Location on the Gaia side of the river was excellent . The rooms were excellent had a balcony. Breakfast was excellent catering to all tastes. Would highly recommend . Excellent value for money. Lovely hotel in a fabulous location in Gaia, the rooms, restaurant, bars and pool area are well kept and service was second to none. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

The Forte de Gaia property was absolutely the best in luxury, comfort and hospitality in every way. the rooms were beautiful and luxurious furnished. the food was great!! the staff was gracious and helpful and so patient to provide all of our needs . the best is the location to have the magic of the daytime and nighttime views of the beautiful PORTO. so exciting to take the gondolas and walk the bridge to the city but also easy to cab over. highly recommend this hotel and canteen wait to return.

I booked this hotel as a surprise for my sister for her 40th birthday celebrations, I could honestly not have booked anything better!! From the moment we stepped inside the hotel, we knew we were in for a very special stay. Having stayed in many top rated hotels over the years, this one has surpassed them all!! It is quite literally something very special. Reception/Concierge/Bar - The most wonderful smell in common areas, almost like a luxury spa, the staff are so friendly & welcoming & so helpful. Drinks in the bar were excellent & not over priced. Cocktails excellent, atmosphere relaxing & calm. Room - I booked a superior room with balcony, I had emailed the hotel prior to the stay to request a high floor, twin room & river view. This was almost accommodated fully, twin room, floor 3, and a river view if you looked to the far left of the little balcony :-) Its true, as others have commented that we were directly opposite an office block, it is a little odd, sitting on your balcony whilst office workers are working away just across from you, you can see each other very clearly, but it did not spoil our stay. The room was beautiful, the bed the most comfortable i have ever slept in! (I wanted to take it home!) Nespresso machine (refilled daily) along with bottled water. Turndown service with refreshing l'occitane towel. In room fridge to add own drinks etc. Robes, good quality towels & slippers & fabulous big pool towels. Pool - beautiful pool area, small infinity style pool that was heated, lovely after a day of sightseeing, the beds are super comfortable, bar service excellent & attentive & almost an "Ibiza chill" atmosphere with music gently playing, it was so relaxing. We loved it here. Restaurant - Unfortunately the restaurant was full for our stay, so we were only able to experience breakfast, this was incredible, nothing more I could ask for, excellent choices, so much choice!! fabulous & attentive service & an incredible view to enjoy. Again, a very calm & relaxed but extremely attentive service. I was very pleased that on the first day, I was approached to welcome us & check that we had had a great first night & if all was going ok. Location - The hotel is in such a fabulous location, in the quieter Gaia side of Porto, arguably the best side!! Lots of shops & restaurants in the immediate vicinity as well as the cable car. Quick easy access across the famous Luis Bridge to the other side of Porto. I would absolutely return here in a heartbeat, we will be back. Thank you for an incredible stay!
