We based ourselves here during our first visit to Porto and while it was farther outside the center the elite benefits and hotel features made it worthwhile. We arrived very late due to a missed flight connection and rerouting. The front desk was so helpful and got us checked in immediately with a nice upgrade. Once inside our room we had a welcoming bottle of wine and a sweet dessert. The room was large and very comfortable with a very spacious bathroom. In the morning the breakfast buffet was very filling and we got to pick from the made to order ovo(egg) menu a variety of items every morning. The fresh honeycomb was a unique and sweet feature. Staff were very friendly and attentive throughout our meal. We also enjoyed a welcoming drink at the bar. I had something with vinegar in it and while initially hesitant at first the drink turned out to be good. The gym was located in the attached hotel annex. It had a track decor and a variety of cardio and strength training equipment inside. Very nice. The hotel wasn’t busy that January so it was nice and quiet throughout our stay. We’d definitely comeback if it worked out on our next Porto trip.

“Stunning hotel in Porto”

This hotel was top notch! I cannot say enough about the accommodations, breakfast and the staff. We were in room 435 which was a premium suite with balcony and it was 560 square feet. It had a king bed, two full bathrooms and a living room and balcony. Highly recommend!

We booked this hotel knowing it was not inside the central city areas or near the attractions. This was all fine and a short ride on the nearby metro was easy to do. We booked this hotel knowing it was not inside the central city areas or near the attractions. This was all fine and a short ride on the nearby metro was easy to do. The room itself was good, but very warm. We had to open the window to cool it down, but that led to road noise. The room service options were somewhat limited, and there really wasn’t much very close by in the way of food. All in all this was a good hotel, don’t get us wrong, but there are tradeoffs as far as location and amenities outside the hotel that come with a more reasonable price. The rooftop pool was closed so no comment there. We would return here again, but it is important to note the trade offs and ensure the price savings you get versus staying in the central tourist areas are worth it. The metro is very close (5 min walk) and trains are frequent so that part was easy.

We chose to stay here after seeing they had an indoor pool given that the weather would mean that we may have some days where we wouldn’t be able to be out and about. However we soon found out that to actually use the pool it costs 15 euros per person per day. They do have an outdoor pool that’s free but it’s 8 degrees outside so this offer doesn’t make sense in the winter. The fact they choose to charge for the indoor pool is their choice however it’s not really clear that this is the case online so you can’t make your hotel choice fully informed which makes you feel a bit negative. On one occasion we asked to use a fork- this has never ever been an issue at any of the many hotels we have stayed at and the hotel here said they’d let us for 5 euros each. Absolutely ridiculous. I felt like saying the night before when we ordered room service and didn’t use the cutlery they should refund us 10 euros then. The amount you’re paying the least they can do is let you borrow a fork. It seems absurd, even the most budget hotels wouldn’t have an issue with this. Even if they did charge, does it really cost 10 euros to wash two forks?! Seems a bit silly. The hotel just seems like an upmarket hotel but every corner they’re trying to scam you out of more money so leaves you feeling a bit of a bitter taste toward it. It’s a shame as we are staying here to try the hotel out for a mass booking for our wedding so they’ve lost out on business. On a positive note, the concierge and reception staff are lovely but unfortunately this hotel is not up to Marriott standards.
