“Great hotel”

Lovely hotel, fantastic breakfast, comfy and massive beds. Good location- was about 15 mins walk from must places, easy to get to on metro from airport. Pool on rooftop not really a pool more a plunge pool and there were about 5 sunbeds always taken. Nice rooftop area and great food there

My wife and I have stayed in a fair few hotels all over Europe doing city breaks. I can honestly say this is hands down one of, if not THE best hotel we have stayed in. My wife and I have stayed in a fair few hotels all over Europe doing city breaks. I can honestly say this is hands down one of, if not THE best hotel we have stayed in. The rooftop bar is great, a fair bit of seating area with stunning views. The pool was nice. Small but enough for what you need. The location is stunning, a hilly city, so take comfy walking shoes!! This was a good 20mins walk from the water front. But don't let that put you off, this hotel is well worth the walk trust me!!! The rooms were spotless, so clean, every day, tidy and spacious. Couldn't fault the cleaning staff at all. We stayed bed and breakfast, the drinks selection alone in the morning it well worth it. Every way you could make coffee was available. Teas, fresh juices, milk and even mimosas. Well worth booking the breakfast as the selection was so good, omelettes made fresh to order. Food served and topped up constantly, eggs any way you wanted, bacon, mushrooms, beans, fresh bread, fresh fruit, pastries and so much more. All in all the best value for money?! We stayed in a room in the front of the hotel, we thought it might be noisy, but no, nothing, quiet all night. The beds were one of the comfiest we have slept in, nice dark rooms also. Slept like a baby! There's a small kebab shop literally around the corner, we went late one night (blame the football) great and cheap. There's a little supermarket right next door too. The location has everything you'd need. We are going to recommend this hotel to everyone, the city is amazing and we will be back!!! Thank you lastly to your amazing staff, nothing was too small, our room wasn't ready on check in (we arrived earlier than we thought) so we left our luggage, safely locked away and when we came to check in, the luggage was upstairs in the room ready. Everyone spoke amazing English and were helpful from check in, breakfast, at the bar and the hotel reception stayed open late (with an honesty bar) for the world cup football. A real nice touch. We'd like to thank ALL the staff. The hotel had evening entertainment from music and DJ sets to cookery. It has it all here. Just amazing!

“Heck of a hike to the hotel from the river”

Firstly let me say the staff were all outstanding! We’d booked a premium room on b&b basis. Room itself was nice and was more or less over reception and looking into street but not a particularly pleasant street and very noisy at night, even with windows closed! Firstly let me say the staff were all outstanding! We’d booked a premium room on b&b basis. Room itself was nice and was more or less over reception and looking into street but not a particularly pleasant street and very noisy at night, even with windows closed! Dogs barking outside and lots of ‘people’ noise. Storage in room is very limited, no drawers! Luckily we’d taken extra coat hangers, the wardrobe hanging area is short too. Breakfast very good. Rooftop bar nice with lovely staff; entertainment was dull unfortunately. Pool very small with only six sunbeds. In our opinion this hotel wasn’t centrally located, it’s at the top end of the historical area and whilst the major sites are all within walking distance ‘below’ the hotel; it’s a heck of a climb back up to the hotel! Approx from hotel to river about a 30 minute walk downhill! Taxi from airport - hotel in rush hour was 40 euros; taxi from hotel to airport on Sunday lunchtime (when roads quiet) 30 euros!

“Five-star hotel staff but...”

We booked two rooms. The staff could easily have been from a five-star hotel — very courteous and helpful throughout our stay. What brings the rating down, however, is that we ran into a few technical issues during our visit. On two occasions, we lost electricity in both rooms, not at the same time… lisää

We booked two rooms. The staff could easily have been from a five-star hotel — very courteous and helpful throughout our stay. What brings the rating down, however, is that we ran into a few technical issues during our visit. On two occasions, we lost electricity in both rooms, not at the same time. In one of the rooms, this happened the day before we were due to check out, and we had to move to another room — a big thank you to the staff for arranging that so smoothly. In addition, the air conditioning malfunctioned twice, and at the worst possible time — during the night, when we needed it most.
