“Lovely outdoor family holiday”

We've just returned from a wonderful 4 days at Centre Parcs. It was our first time and although we had heard good things about Centre Parcs in general, the recent reviews made us slightly wary. We've just returned from a wonderful 4 days at Centre Parcs. It was our first time and although we had heard good things about Centre Parcs in general, the recent reviews made us slightly wary. From the start, the staff were lovely and helpful. Check in was easy. We just gave some details driving in and were handed our wristbands. We arrived before our house was ready so we explored the main dome area and visited the Aqua Mundo. The Aqua Mundo is amazing, it is as though you step into a water park. Our children (6&3) had so much to do with there being little slides and pools. They also enjoyed the lazy river and the water tree area. In the next few days we also tried the slides, the wild river and the wave pool. We liked that there were life jackets available when we needed them. The staff were also helpful when one of our wristbands came off and was lost. The house was cute and clean. We enjoyed the addition of a sauna and it overlooked the lake, which was beautiful. Small things like providing soap to wash up with would have been nice, but also not the worst thing when they give you 3 dishwasher tablets and some cloths. We paid for various activities (pony riding, bikes, bowling, golf) which all seemed reasonable. We took advantage of an offer for the holiday, and the saving helped with paying for the activities. We expected to pay for these, as with other Centre Parcs resorts, it isn't all included. We would definitely recommend hiring or bringing bikes to get around as the park is much larger than we had anticipated, but we enjoyed cycling round and seeing all the different parts. There were several free things to do like visit the little farm, playgrounds and on one of our cycle rides we saw the farmer herding some of the sheep. The soft play was a hit with our kids as well and so huge! We were delighted this was free, along with the swimming pool, as these were the two things the boys wanted to do every day. It also meant we could just pop into the soft play for 10-15 minutes at a time. We walked along the beach and saw lots of people playing in the sand. One of our children also got a free glitter tattoo which stayed on for the whole of our trip. The grocery shop was well stocked and reasonably priced for most things. We liked the fresh bakery at the front as well. We found that the reservations were late for the restaurants, but we turned up when we wanted to eat at the Italian and were seated straight away, so don't let this put you off. We will definitely be back as we had a lovely time and there is still more that we want to explore.
