“A great countryside break”

A truly wonderful stay at this amazing resort. It's in the middle of nowhere, so it's extremely peaceful, despite being next to a working farm. A truly wonderful stay at this amazing resort. It's in the middle of nowhere, so it's extremely peaceful, despite being next to a working farm. Plenty of parking, including electric car charging points too, which was nice to see. From the moment you enter the beautiful courtyard, you can see how well maintained the property is, and how the staff care. Everyone spoke a little English, so we were able to communicate well enough. We were upgraded to a Lux room, which was well appointed with a swing chair in the room which was a nice surprise. Breakfast was a continental variety. During one morning we had to place an order for what we wanted, but for the other days, it was buffet style which we preferred. High quality produce, which included champagne, because why not! Dinner was excellent. On a Monday the restaurant is closed, but there's still plenty of choice from the room service menu. The restaurant itself is highly regarded, and I have to say the quality, appearance and taste of the food was excellent. There's a huge wine menu, but the wines by the glass, and champagne, were great too. A point to note, if eating in the garden on the decking at night, make sure you use insect repellent as we were bitten a few times. A small price to pay for a wonderful dinner. All staff we encountered were friendly and professional, which we were very pleased to experience. The spa facilities were great. We used the pool, sauna, hot tubs and massage. We were the only people throughout most of our time, so it felt like a private facility for us. The massages were reasonably priced (given the location) and were ok. If you want a deep tissue massage, this probably isn't for you, but perfectly fine for a relaxing massage. There are local cycling routes which they can provide, and you can borrow their bikes. They are ok but definitely need a bit of tlc and maintenance. We drove to the local town (10 mins) for a chemist, pizza restaurant and local shop. Laon is a 30 mins drive (recommended) and Reims 60 mins. The location is therefore great. In the peaceful countryside, but close enough to local attractions. In summary, and enjoyable stay. High quality, great food and lots of facilities to enjoy, whilst being close enough to local attractions. We will be returning!
