From the hotel you can walk to a giant watterfall 120 m' high next to a picnic park.and from there to Avriex port. .Les than 10 minutes driving from LA-NORMA ski resort. 20 minutes from Orelle-TREE VALLE express cable car. I traveled by car from Milan airport -2.5 hours driving.

“Relaxing and Fantastic Value for Money”

My wife and I stayed here whilst driving through Europe. The apartment was clean, very spacious and well equipped. The locally area was very picturesque with plenty of walking opportunities very close by. Please note though, that there is a French Aerospace research facility at the bottom of the valley, which does look pretty industrial, it however did not detract from our very positive experience. We only stayed for one night, though we would love to stay again for a few more nights to explore the area more.

Avrieux is very small, perfectly situated small village. From Avrieux you can reach 5-6 more villages within the distance of few kilometers. You will feel the real beauty of France, historic spirit and opportunity to relax from overcrowded cities. You can have cultural activities: it is possible to go on foot to see waterfall Saint Benoit (5 min); hiking on the trails to see the Esseillon fort, fortified redoubt of Maria Theresa, Devil’s Bridge (1 hour). The Residence Plein Soleil is on the top of Avrieux village, which gives you fantastic view over village. We was there during off season, so nobody was there to welcome us. We found letter on entrance door with explanation how to find the key. And we found it easily. The property is new and well maintained. As we was there with a baby (11 months) we rented Studio. It is spacious with nice balcony and meadow. Kitchen well equipped with dishwasher and fridge and plenty of crockery and utensils. Next day, we met staff on the reception. Not a single issue with them, as they are polite and helpful. In front of property there is plenty of parking space and it is free. Also, there is garage which is not free. The place is a little bit far from the main road and there is no any market or shop in the village, so you need a car to reach somewhere (to ski, to buy something etc.). Wifi was only in the reception area, and we was lucky that our Studio was above Reception. TV, bed linens and towels aren't included in the price. So bring your own or rent it there.

My husband and me stayed there 5 nights from 17. June 2012. We booked via booking.com and the previous trip advisor reviews proved very accurate and helpful. We came within the opening hours on a Sunday evening, but found the keys with instructions in a box on the back of the residence. It was slightly daunting not finding anybody around and having no linen on the bed whatsoever. This was a Sunday night and everything was closed. The listed after hours phone number was not answered. I got my linen the next day when the staff was back for free. The Mastercard booking fee had been taken months earlier with the booking and not after check out. There is no safe in the appartment either. Otherwise it is a very nice and quiet area, ideal for walking in the nearby mountains/walking trails. The area was magic with all the spring flowers in the mountains. The appartment has otherwise a spacious lay out and a sunny balcony with meadow right in front. The kitchen is generously equipped with dishwasher and all sorts of crockery and utensils. Preparing meals is easy and Modane has good supermarkets. Value for money is excellent. Knowing all this I would still stay in the appartment again and will recommend to friends. Next time I would be better prepared with towels and linen or sleeping bag. Car park is in secured garage.
