“A Lovely Hygge Hotel ❤️”

We stayed here for 5 nights and were very pleased with our choice. A superb setting on the shoreline of Lake Annecy with lawns stretching down to the lake. We had an air conditioned ground floor lake view classic room, which had a lovely bathroom with a large walk in shower. There was a comfortable bed and a proper kettle!! It was nice to make a coffee or tea and sit out on the terrace in the morning. If a small fridge for milk etc could be added, it would be another good thing. Not really breakfast people, we usually had brunch with our children who were staying on a campsite in Sevrier. We hope to return to Hotel clos Marcel next year. The layout and design, both inside and in the grounds felt very hyggelig as promised! 😊

“Superb location on lake”

We've been coming to Annecy for almost 40 years and for the past few years we've been driving past this hotel and thinking "that looks nice, we must stay there sometime". In June 2022 we stayed in a Classic Room With Balcony and Sea View. The room was small but well designed and the balcony provided a beautiful view of the lake over to Talloires on the opposite side of the lake. There is a pontoon with swimming steps down to the lake, which is better than any hotel swimming pool and you can book private use of the sauna daily. The restaurant menu was different from the one posted online and had we known this we'd have probably eaten elsewhere but the chef made an exception to accommodate me, which was excellent. There were just two main courses on the menu - pork and fish - neither of which I can eat. However, the chef prepared a beef steak for me which was not on the menu which was superb but the menu does need more options - a beef of chicken dish for those of us who don't eat pork or lamb and also a vegan dish is needed these days. Not vegetarian, vegan, as vegans can't eat vegetarian but vegetarians will happily eat vegan. I'm not vegan by the way but my kids are and this is growing and needs to be accommodated. Despite the gripe about the restricted menu, what was prepared for me was excellent.

“Good experience ”

We stayed in the hotel in August last and had a really good experience. The hotel is in a great spot with gardens running down to the lake. There was loads of parking and the journey into the centre of Annecy was easy. Everyone on reception was friendly and efficient both on checking in and checkin… lisää

We stayed in the hotel in August last and had a really good experience. The hotel is in a great spot with gardens running down to the lake. There was loads of parking and the journey into the centre of Annecy was easy. Everyone on reception was friendly and efficient both on checking in and checking out. Our room had a good view of the lake with a small balcony and was comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was very good with nice food, pleasant atmosphere and good service. We would have eaten there on our second night but unfortunately the restaurant was closed. Breakfast was fine too. Hopefully we will get a chance to return next year.

“Good location but can be improved.”

We did enjoyed our stay at the hotel, however we had some problems with our shower drain. The water would not go down and floaded the entire bathroom, which was not ideal. Rooms are very dark, which I personally don't enjoy, and can be very noisy when other guests walk and talk in the hallways. One… lisää

We did enjoyed our stay at the hotel, however we had some problems with our shower drain. The water would not go down and floaded the entire bathroom, which was not ideal. Rooms are very dark, which I personally don't enjoy, and can be very noisy when other guests walk and talk in the hallways. One can hear it all from the bedrooms. Staff is very friendly, parking is available and the lake views are gorgeous. I would come back and give a second chance.
