I never write a review but this time I must share my experience. Simple two star hotel good for a night stopover before heading for your ski holiday. We were there when the landslide blocked the main road up the mountains with hundreds of skiers got stuck around the area. We only heard about the news after we checked out. We showed up again in the front office and the hotel manager was there to do all her best to help us. She called her husband and personal friends to understand the situation. When she knew that our friends were going to be dropped off at Lake Annecy as the taxi driver refused to continue his journey to Meribel, she told the driver to take our friends to the hotel and quicky held the rooms for the night for us. She told us not to pay until late that afternoon. If the road opened again, she would cancel the reservation. We would pay only when we had to spend one more night. She also called up the taxi companies for us as we didn't speak French for transportation up the mountain. Not an easy job because of the disaster. We were the lucky ones that we were in good hand and did not have to sleep in the bus or in a shelter like the others. Feeling really grateful with (1) the professionalism, calmness and high level hospitality skills of the hotel manager (2) other hotel staff especially they started breakfast 15 minutes earlier the next morning so that we could get onto the taxi (3) Breakfast is great guaranteed with hot croissants (4). Rooms are simply but good enough for one night stopover with clean bed sheet (5). ideal location with an Intermarche , restaurants nearby and a charming walk around the lake. I have been working for the travel industry for more than 20 years and I understand you don't need a five star hotel in all journey but a well considered hotel with kind hearted staff when unpredictable incidents happen.

“Unfortunately not clean”

The hotel is well located on the thoroughfare, parking lots enough available.Unfortunately it is a bit dirty everywhere, already at the front desk and in the hallways. The room was dusty, the curtain broke. In the bathroom still remains of toothpaste and the soap from the predecessor.. The sheets w… lisää

The hotel is well located on the thoroughfare, parking lots enough available.Unfortunately it is a bit dirty everywhere, already at the front desk and in the hallways. The room was dusty, the curtain broke. In the bathroom still remains of toothpaste and the soap from the predecessor.. The sheets were ok. The breakfast is too expensive. Too bad, here you could do something good with little effort.

It was an incredibly hot day and though the air-con struggled to get the night time temperature below 27.5, it could be forgiven. It was an incredibly hot day and though the air-con struggled to get the night time temperature below 27.5, it could be forgiven. The room was comfortable, and clean but the bathroom showed signs of wear and we were met by a small cockroach on the first morning. There were a lot of areas where water seeped and holes where things had broken. Outside the window of our room, which overlooked the garden, there was a lot of wasp activity and where the wooden overhang was rotten they were busy collecting wood for a nest. Despite the heat, we slept fairly well as the bed was comfortable. There is a very good restaurant right next door to the hotel ‘The 4 Sens’, where we ate on the first night and breakfast in the hotel was the traditional Continental (ie no sausage or scrambled eggs) but more than adequate. Price very reasonable, so I suppose you can say, you get what you pay for. Staff all very pleasant and helpful.
